Glad you’re so optimistic. They have Fennelly we have Mittie.
A few years ago many ISU fans wanted to fire Fennelly.
And his teams consistently are better than ours. Their standards must be way higher.

Ryan’s aau coach wanted her to visit another school before settling on her first choice. K State. Iowa State is a good team but even good teams lose.

Pick 'Em

five observations:

1. the isu/stanford game was an amazing show. best game of the day on either side. and it's hard not to like the clones even though i still don't understand emily going to ames. imagine her along side sundell?

2, baylor gets lucky at v'tech. had the hokies had their all-american, elizabeth kitley, the bears would have been blown out rather than barely [sic] advancing.

3. south carolina wins by 40 over #8 north carolina. i have grown to admire coach staley's approach to the game. she certainly gathers talent and then coaches them up. good grief, they are so good.

4. lsu beats rice institute and the middle of tennessee to advance to the sweet sixteen. that's about as easy a path as one could ever hope for. coach kim has time to pick her fight with the washington post over a hit piece that's coming soon. if you haven't paid attention, it's high drama on the horizon.

5. some fine monday matchups. i'm most looking forward to watching wvu's quickness versus iowa's skill tonight. i suspect, despite caitlin's greatness, that this one will be won by the hawkeyes in the paint.

Notre Dame looks like a final four team. I hope WVU gives Iowa headaches. Looking forward to seeing Gonzaga vs Utah in person tonight before a sellout crowd. It is nice to see these 1st and 2nd round games draw sellouts.

The games would be more interesting. Seems like many of the men's 1st and 2nd round games are played before a half empty arena.

The ones that get me are like Houston playing Texas A&M in Memphis. Those two schools are only like 90 minutes from each other in SE Texas. It's a shame they couldn't have played in San Antonio or Houston. Of course, ISU and South Dakota State played in Omaha so that was good for the fans.

NC State has been guilty of poor shot selection in the 4th quarter. They have allowed Tennessee to catch up. It looked like the game was going to be a run away, but now it is going down to the wire.

OU was up four with 2:30 left in the game and Indiana goes on a 10-0 and wins 75-68. Imagine if that happened to our girls and the anger that Coach Mittie would receive.

OU wasn’t playing on their home court in front of a sell out and the higher seed. A little different.
