Re: NCAA Women's Tournament
Mulkey may be a fabulous coach, but she is on a lower rung as a person, IMHO.
Just read the recent story about her life. Lots of ups and down. However, she's Trumpian in her ability to hold grudges for a long time and her ability to put people down publicly. Mulkey is a diva's diva.

Yeah, she's a little over-the-top for me, but I will always appreciate her comments on the coronavirus testing protocol back in '21.ToledoCat#3 wrote: ↑April 1st, 2024, 3:41 pmMulkey may be a fabulous coach, but she is on a lower rung as a person, IMHO.

monday afterthoughts ...
1. iowa/lsu lived up to their billing - caitlin goes for 41 with 12 assists;
2. lsu never gave her much defense until the end - too late, kim;
3. uconn's paige bueckers is really good - deep faith/tim tebow'esque as well;
4. wonder if paige defends caitlin in the f4 - i'm sure the reverse won't happen;
5. juju looked like a usc freshman - i thought trojans didn't like being called "southern cal"?
6. can you guess geno's f4 run - how about 15 of the last 16;
7. this may be his best coaching job - six season-ending injuries on the husky bench;
8. auriemma is wbb equivalent of rockne;
9. uconn in the semis will be better than lsu - huskies are more talented and seasoned than the tigers;
10. iowa/lsu tv rating? 10 million perhaps - for context michigan/uw cfp final drew 25 million, mbb tops was 40 million for 1979 bird/magic, and patrick's last super bowl drew 123 million.

Iowa-LSU's average 12.3 million viewers are more than:
• Every women's college basketball game ever
• Every ESPN college basketball game ever
• Every MLB game last season
• Every NHL game last season
• Every MLS game last season
• Every NBA game last season except one
• Every CFB regular season game last season except one

A few days old, but Whitlock makes some interesting points. I definitely agree with his comments regarding Mulkey vs. Staley.ToledoCat#3 wrote: ↑April 1st, 2024, 3:41 pmMulkey may be a fabulous coach, but she is on a lower rung as a person, IMHO.

Whitlock: "Mulkey takes the kind of heat and criticism the secular woke pretends Staley gets. Staley, who dresses like a teenage boy, is worshiped. She manufactures discrimination and victimhood."

I don't understand what the fuss is about. That clearly was an illegal screen. If the call is not made, UCONN has an offensive advantage.tmcats wrote: ↑April 6th, 2024, 11:04 amgreat game between uconn and iowa. correct game ending call.

it's about uconn fans, caitlin haters, and talking heads trying to create controversy. that call was so obvious even i could have made it 900-miles away watching from manhattan, ks.purpleprairiecat wrote: ↑April 6th, 2024, 11:40 amI don't understand what the fuss is about.
