Just back from the double header in Manhattan. Whew - those were two close games - glad the women came out on the good side. Besides Maupin having a great game, I thought Walker really played well. She has a really quick first step and can get by her defender and was good at finishing at the basket on her drives. Serena had an off day - hopefully she'll be back to form on Wednesday.

I'll never understand why a close win is a lucky win. A close win is just as likely to be from toughness and crucial skill.

In all truth, every basketball game has a big element of luck in it -- lucky bounces, lucky calls and no-calls, lucky injuries, lucky weather, lucky opponent actions, etc.

1. maupin with 15 and 11 is as good an athlete as caitlin is a shooter - nice to add 10# before next season;
2. good to see gabby back in the lead with 19 - hope 3-point shooting improves soon;
3. walker's just a baller of the first order - efficient with mojo;
4. carrying the load perhaps wearing on serena - whopping 7 turnovers;
5. brylee's 0-6, sides 0-3 - both are way better than that;
6. ucf's peterson is the real deal with 26 - give it up to her for keeping knights close;
7. yoki out again - will be required to beat the (20-3) eers wednesday;
8. the game ender showed a confident, experienced, quality team play - serena with the game-ending-dime to jaelyn;
9. 6,316 in the stands is a good showing but will need that and more wednesday night;
10. 20-4/11-3!
