seems reasonable to talk about the tournament now. k-state is a lock. albeit, the placement here is as the 8th seeded team which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. whatever, it's a starting point.

I’m sure some of it has to do with Yokie’s absence and uncertain return date. We have an extremely difficult schedule coming up after Saturday. In our next four games after Saturday we have road games at OU, Texas and ISU. We could very possibly lose all of them before Yokie returns. If we can win one of them we should still be in good shape.

I’m not saying I think we will lose all 3. I’m just saying suing it is possible since all are on the road. Just trying to look at it without my purple glasses. If we play our best and get a few breaks they are winnable games. Hope we win them all and I look really dumb.

I agree. We are capable of winning all three but we are also capable of losing. I hope it's the former, not the latter.

I'm still trying to figure how a 6/7 ranked team equates to a 4 seed in the tourney. Our resume is solid. Beat UNC, Beat Iowa, Beat UT, Beat OU, Beat Baylor and no bad losses. Hopefully this works out in the end, just keeping winning!

the initial top-16 reveal has k-state as the 13 seed meaning cats would host here in mhk.

tv feed and further explanation below.

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-bas ... all-reveal

The NCAA tournament selection committee's reveal of the top 16 seeds Thursday was telling. This committee leaned into the quality of losses, which appeared to help the likes of Colorado, UConn and Indiana. The Buffs got the final No. 1 seed in large part because their four losses were to other top-16 teams. NC State, Iowa and UCLA all had one loss outside of the top 16. That gave Colorado the nod despite losing to the Wolfpack and Bruins. The Huskies and Hoosiers have a combined three top-25 NET wins but have no losses outside the top 25. They earned a No. 3 and No. 4 seed, respectively. Injuries to key players, most notably UCLA's Lauren Betts and Kansas State's Ayoka Lee, were factored in, but not to the extent they could have been. Now that both players have returned, the time they missed and the losses both teams absorbed will be reexamined before the next top-16 reveal on Feb. 29. espn

as of 3/1 these are the schools who would host first round games. so k-state has gone from a.p. #2 to unranked on this bracket list. only the b12 OuTs find a place which is grating. :|
