will miss watching caitlin play college ball. i figured some pig farmer association would spend a mill to keep her in iowa city, but alas ...
i don't watch the nba much less the w-version of that aberration. maybe check in now and then but suspect the caitlin saga is over for my eyes.

i'm growing to dislike the endgame timeout/advance the ball rule. it's turning end games into a dreadfully long process even when they are not close.
i do greatly appreciate the 4Q setup of the women's game compared to the men though. no one&one free throw contests. the game moves faster. and it's consistent with how the game is played worldwide, sans mbb.

i watched most of the lsu/usc,e sec title game sunday. the ending was a disastrous near-brawl. i blame the officials for allowing chirping and taunting throughout the game. coach staley made a standup apology afterwards. coach mulkey said something dumb enough to not be repeated. the primary usc,e player also made a very heartfelt apology on X. i gained a lot of respect for staley's program as a result.

Staley & Mulkey clearly hate each other. Not at all surprised at the brawl at the end of the game. Coaches could stop the in-game chirping and taunting if they wanted to. They didn't and the world saw the sad result.
Apologies are better than nuthin', but no need for apologies is much better.

The two biggest thug programs in women's basketball. If I hadn't seen it and you told me there was a fight in a women's basketball game yesterday, I could already guess which game. I not only love the talent of our team, but also their character. Our girls are easy to like and are great role models for the young kids. Can't say the same at USCe and LSU. Sure they win Championships, but they also major in thuganomics. I'll take what we have 10 fold.

As someone that watched the whole LSU South Caroline game, LSU out thugged South Carolina. They started yapping as soon as the ball was tipped. Cardosa had her hair pulled, intentional foul to the throat and smacked in the mouth (not called) by Reese. She was the instigator and then ran to the end of the bench when the altercation happened. I don't condone everything South Carolina did but LSU, mainly Reese, set the tone early.
