Sounds like we are interested in Brenda Wenzel. Big guard who decommitted from UTEP. Any thoughts

He’s 6’6” 180lbs. Doesn’t look like he’s ranked at all. He had offers from UTEP, Army and Incarnate Word.
He averaged 24 ppg his senior year.

The few videos I’ve watched looks like he has a decent stroke but not sure much else. Would likely be a redshirt if offered. Kind of looks a little like Lindy Waters in size and build.

No disrespect to this young man, but if we offer him I’m afraid it means we’ve lost out on everyone else unless he’s someone really flying under the radar.

Read the article where he committed to UTEP and they believe he would be their sharp shooter. Says he ranked 18th in Texas. And I guess also had offers from New Mexico, Texas St, La Tech and N Colorado. And said he was getting interest from Texas Tech before he signed with UTEP.

So maybe Weber and Co are onto a kid who could be a help, especially shooting.

Recruiting classes in basketball are very difficult to compare. Points are given for each player, so one team could in theory get four 3*s and be higher ranked then a team only getting a single 5*. Each team has a different number to fill and it is much more varied from 1-5, compared to football where most programs are 18+.

Not to mention will the recruiting services remove Goodnews from the 2019 class and move him to 2018? Currently, some services are inaccurately reporting him in 2019. I'm sure there are other examples, like players not qualifying, that make rankings hard to judge.

If 247sports were to remove Goodnews from the 2019 class, and K-State were to get Caleb Grill, the overall class rating would drop a bit as Grill is rated lower then Goodnews.

He looks like he would be a nice addition but he’s now changed his mind twice. He committed to Seton Hall last March and then decommitted and decided to go to St John’s this past December, picking them over us and a couple others. Now he’s on the market again.

Looks like KSU is looking at transfer Pat Andree from Lehigh. You might remember him from when we played Lehigh earlier this season and he went 4-7 from 3. Would be a Stretch 4 who shoots over 40% from deep.

Andree signed with NC State last night.

I don't know if this has already been posted, but I saw that we picked up a new player who is coming in as a PWO. His name is Joe Petrakis. He played forward at Dodge City CC last season. He will redshirt this coming season. He has good length at 6'9, but needs to add weight to compete on the Big 12 level.
