Wow! Now I'm glad we didn't sign him. We can sign two or three good players with that same amount of money. Speaking of good players, has anyone heard any updates on Baba Miller?

Ballot would have been a great pickup but, of course, coaches have to manage the salary structure of the entire team, while keeping the overall salary cap they have available at their school. That $1.2 mill number is less than Dickinson got from KU last year (reportedly) so it probably shouldn't be surprising for an All Pac 12 center who averages a double, double.

pretty good M source said the big dick got $850,000 at ku. salaries are going to explode without a cap.bigdeal wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 4:11 pmBallot would have been a great pickup but, of course, coaches have to manage the salary structure of the entire team, while keeping the overall salary cap they have available at their school. I'm still engaged with K-State and Big 12 mbb and football, but it is getting tougher every year. I'm not against kids getting NIL money (as it was intended) and having the ability to transfer to another school if things don't work out at their current school for whatever reason. What I am against is what the system is rapidly becoming -- a colossal unregulated train wreck. I don't blame our coaches or AD Taylor. They are unfortunately caught up in all this chaos. I don't know how we can save college sports at this point, except to let the whole thing implode and start from scratch.tmcats wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 5:55 pmpretty good M source said the big dick got $850,000 at ku. salaries are going to explode without a cap.bigdeal wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 4:11 pmBallot would have been a great pickup but, of course, coaches have to manage the salary structure of the entire team, while keeping the overall salary cap they have available at their school. The transfer portal is great when you get a player, but a great abomination when you lose out on a player.

It's still early and there are plenty of good players left in the portal. We just have to trust that Coach Tang and his staff will target and land the kids who will be the best fits to make the team successful.
