Thank GOD Learnin and Dave are back to help us see their truth! Lol. I quit reading the novel 2 sentences in. You can PREACh all you want, but I FAIThFully believe Tang is a better basketball coach than Weber.

I've seen this movie before.... They'll instigate and argue to piss us off, then play victim when people tire of their crap, which is already happening. I got TO'd a few weeks ago for making a couple of "woke" comments, which I deserved, but this kind of crap is way more damaging to the board. These guys are here to serve their own negative agendas, not objectively discuss KSU sports. The timing of their return says it all, but if you don't believe that, just read their posts.

I'm really tired of the excuses for this team. K-State didn't "lose" two starters. Glover was never going to be a starter and the other guy eliminated himself because he decided that he was going to be a thug. But I can understand the sympathy tied to this player. After all, he was the leading returning scorer and was the one who was going to take this team to the Final Four. Fans are always willing to overlook the sins of such a player, because it's in THEIR best interest to do so. Frankly, I don't want thugs playing for my school. He doesn't deserve to play for my school. That's just my opinion. It's not a popular one on this forum, but I have higher standards for athletes that put on a KSU uniform like I did once. I saw a teammate kicked off the team for drinking a beer. He was a 5-star athlete given today's standards. That may seem a little extreme, but there were other things that led to that, and he then broke a team rule. So he was shown the door ... without discussion. The team accepted it, and got better.

And here's the big unknown. Crowing about two players who didn't play is not going to erase any of those bad losses that this team had. And it's not going to produce any imaginary wins either. Other teams also deal with personnel issues.

Excuses are for losers.

You'll get over it. You are making excuses for others excuses. You seem to be bent against Coach Tang. Hmmmm, I wonder why...

And do you know all the ins and out of what happened with Tomlin? I don't. Feel free to inform us all. We know your opinion, what else do you have?

I've got about a dozen reasons why I think Tang is a charlatan and a fraud. You willing to hear them? Nah, I didn't think so. You've been sucked into the anti-Bruce, Tang group. Go to other websites to see what others outside of the KSU bubble think of Jerome Tang. Because this season, in particular, has exposed him. The dancing man, and the man on the couch is not who you think he is. The man who calls out another coach for cheating is exactly who I think he is. The man who blasts students for not showing up to "his" game during mid-term exams, and expects a quid pro quo because he visited your fraternity and sorority, is exactly who I think he is. The guy who has perfected the blow-by handshake, and never stops to say a single word to the coach who just beat him is exactly who I think he is, a poor loser. The new coach who publicly embarrassed players who played for a former coach in his first press conference is exactly who I think he is. The guy who proselytizes relentlessly at a secular university is exactly who I think he is. The guy who publicly calls out officials by name (after losing), is exactly who I think he is. So unlike you I've been standing back and observing this guy, forming an opinion of him. And it has nothing to do with who the former coach was. It's about who THIS coach is - a narcissistic phony - who I suspected was a phony from the get go ... but now I'm sure. Not that hard. I've seen them before.

By the way, I'm a big fan of our football coach, and women's basketball team. They're genuine. I like genuine.

Fans are disappointed with this season. And Tang is being criticized by fans for not addressing the tov issue and for signing Glover because he had a meniscus injury last year. Fans are rightfully looking at next years roster and will be judging Tang before the season by how he fills it. And they will be evaluating how Tang coaches that roster and judging him on wins and losses.

I'll give you a break for attempting to compare Weber's treatment with Tang's during their first two years. Perhaps you weren't posting during 2012 on the old scout forum among others. If, however, you are cognizant of how things were when Weber arrived in Manhattan, your comparison is quite extraordinary. I've read all of the media articles and social media posts about this year's team. Yes, they lament the chronic turnovers and sloppy play of this team. I've heard plenty of comments about Carter being a turnover machine. I've heard a few fans talk about the poor offensive schemes usually made by fans who did not appreciate Weber's treatment. I've seen Fitz sigh and roll his eyes when talking about the play of this team, but he never mentions Tang in the same breath. It is always mitigated by the fact that Coach Tang lost two terrific players. Bruce was sentenced for being a bad coach before his plane touched down and every bad result was laid at his feet by a sizeable portion of the fan base.

He injured it his freshman year halfway through the Big 12 season and was recovered for his sophomore year. Started 35 games that year and averaged 33 minutes that year. He missed about 10 games his junior year with a foot injury. We went to the elite 8 that year..

Right off the bat, Dean Wade being hampered for several years was greater than the loss of Tomlin and Glover for one year. Secondly, I can appreciate the way you worded that challenge. "Two starter caliber players for the entire season with the season already underway." With that sleight of hand, you eliminated the negative effect of DJ being hobbled for multiple years; Dean being hobbled for multiple years: Bradford being hobbled for most of the year with Covid pneumonia, etc., etc.

When he came back his sophomore year from the knee injury, he did not have the speed and reckless abandon he had as a freshman. He was playing more carefully because of that trauma. So, the knee injury affected his first two years. You are correct in pointing out that it was a foot injury, which sidelined him for 10 games during his junior year. So, three of Kam's four years were hampered by two injuries.

Weber and more importantly, his players rightfully received a lot of "if only" commentary over the foot injuries to Dean Wade and DJ.

I agree. A portion of the fan base did respect Weber. I'm talking about the sizeable portion who thought he was a loser before he arrived. I'm talking about the media sucking up to this portion of that fan base because they sensed that portion represented and, for ratings, pandered to them.

Finally, a reminder so you can move on with the rest of us. Weber finished his last three years with losing records so he was replaced. Tang will receive the same treatment if he has three losing seasons in a row.

I couldn't agree with you more. This is your best statement. Yes, the fan base will turn on Tang if he has three years without a tournament appearance. But that was a big part of the point I was trying to make, no? Right now, 95% of the fan base loves and respects Tang. From the git go, Weber was faced with a split fan base. Half wanted to see him fail. The other half wanted to see him succeed. This is why, as I pointed out, Tomlin's departure was blamed, by a large portion of the fan base and 100% of the social media, on President Linton. When Weber lost a player, the media and sizeable portion of the fan base, laid it on Weber's shoulders. As a result of this leniency, Tang will have a better chance of not sustaining a three-year lack of success. This is especially true in the transfer portal era.

Great post learnin. FINALLY truth and reasoning has temporarily returned to this forum. Of course, I don't expect it to last, or even be seen by many on here. Wow, all that and religion too? Excuses for not liking a guy--what was it you said about excuses? Still, I get a feeling that there is still something else?

I was never a Bruce Weber hater. He coached the right way, in my opinion. I don't decide who stays and who goes, but somebody with a helluva lot more authority that you and me decided he should go. If you hate the coach, then don't watch because you have showed up here and brought a ton of negativity to the board suddenly 'on your return', what was it, three days ago?
