Strange season. Some great things happened: 3 wins over Top Ten teams, a win over KU, a record-setting 7 Overtime wins.

With a couple exceptions, the team played very well in Bramlage (15-3), played poorly in neutral site games (2-3), and were downright awful playing in opponents' home arenas (2-9 with only wins at LSU and at WV).

I have seen K-State teams with lesser talent, but I don't think I have ever seen a team as bad as this year's team at valuing the basketball.
So many unforced turnovers, simply due to carelessness, laziness, low BBIQ(?)! Coaches did not seem to have any answer or remedy for this major flaw, as we continued to see them.
This was at least partly due to not having a true starting point guard...

I don't understand what Tang and staff were thinking, seemingly putting all their eggs into one basket by assuming that an injury-prone Glover would be the starting Point Guard with, apparently, no Plan B.
They even left a scholarship spot open when they could have gone out and recruited the best remaining true point guard.
Then this forced them to play Perry at the point which was not his natural position and reduced his effectiveness (I really feel for Perry being forced into that role).
Colossal roster-construction mistake.

With that being said, I trust Tang to learn and mature and (hopefully) make adjustments to avoid the mistakes of the past year.
Hopefully we get better recruiting and roster construction this off-season, then have less off-court distractions next season.

Pick 'Em

Tang missed on a few point guards, notably Abmas who likely took the money from Texas. Big blow there. Then, with our backs against the wall, we convinced Glover to come here rather than stay with BYU. Then he was re-injured, Then the Tomlin fiasco.

Losing out on Abmas and then losing Tomlin were huge blows to the team. These are elite players.

Can you imagine a starting line-up of Abmas, Perry, Tomlin, Big Wil and Kaluma? Top subs would have been Cam, D'G, Dai Dai & Colbert
Primarily a 9 man rotation.

Abmas and Quan would likely average 35 combined and would have made everyone better. Both are efficient players who fill the stat sheet.

We were very close to having another stellar team. Close but no cigar.

IIRC, WVU transfer Joe Toussaint was another guard that looked like he might be coming our way until TTU swept in at the last minute with a big NIL deal.

I know there were quite a few upset posters with Tang, but if you knew those two guys, Tomlin and Glover, were gonna be out the whole year, what would be people's guesses as to the team's record this season? Would it have been 19-16?
