Look up Fran McCaffery's career at Iowa. He's just schooling young Tang on how to get on his level.
With his own players now, I think if Tang keeps getting better as a coach and face of a program, he can achieve the same level of consistent...results...as Fran. BUT with snappy slogans and attention-grabbing Tang moments. Future looks like bright.

Iowa State in their history has been to the same amount of Elite 8 appearances as Jerome Tang.RezClone wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 9:06 pmLook up Fran McCaffery's career at Iowa. He's just schooling young Tang on how to get on his level.

Normally, I would complain about the disparity, but watching the game with my eyeballs specifically looking at fundamental basketball and that FT disparity is legit save for maybe the last shot by Perry (he was fouled and should have gotten 3 Fts). I can't legitimately complain about FTs given the way each team has played thus far except for maybe 1-2 plays. Outside of that, Iowa is just playing more fundamentally sound basketball and most importantly they are hitting their open shots. We had a lot of open looks and flat out missed time after time, while the Iowa kid went off for 22 points in the first half. Defensively we just have to continue full ball denial on Standfort and then rebounding when the other players miss. On offense Rich has been massive shot in the arm. Kind of perplexing why he hasn't played more minutes this year. The rest of our offensive "dudes" need to start hitting open shots when they get good looks. If we stay cold, need to drive the lane and create. We came back from down 10 and beat Texas. Just need to do the same thing.
