K-State has done a tremendous job with their athletic programs. Also, an amazing job with our facilities. Where in college sports is there a more beautiful and efficient complex than what we now have.
We are hitting on all cylinders and now the NCAA has poured sand in our tank with NIL. I don't like NIL but if we are going to participate in this new world we have to take advantage of all opportunities. Given our financial condition I think we can compete financially especially if we do it strategically.
I say we go after a prime big man. We have always struggled in this area and now we can make it a priority to pay a top big man for his name, his image and his likeness. Play it by the rules but get him. Offer Ngonba a deal that will be very hard to refuse and we will find out if he really wants to come here. Also send a message that we have deep pockets and are not one to be trifled with.
Agree on the programs. We have a good number of good coaches, and the Cats are starting to attract more nation-wide attention.
Finding a big man for sure, and I think the Cats should look for a foreign big, skilled both with both shooting and passing. Wishing too much, maybe, but it doesn't hurt to look for a guy like that. We also need another guard that can play the 1 and the 2.

And here I thought Marcus had run out of eligibility!

Seeing that we are going after a transfer guard makes me wonder about Glover's return or another guard who is transferring out. I'm just assuming Foster is a shooting guard so that would likely rule out Ames, although Glover can play the point, as well. Finister?

I can appreciate Finisters efforts but if you can upgrade then you do it. He would need to take a HUGE step next year and become a starting caliber player or like a 6th man caliber. He’s not close to that now. Maybe he can become that. Tang made the comment he believed Finister had NBA ability. Now was that just a coach pumping up a player? Who knows. But he hasn’t really shown NBA ability as of yet and Foster would appear to be a plug and play SG who can score and rebound. Sorry but if Foster was saying yes to KSU and it meant taking him and parting with Finister, I’m going with Foster.
There remains the question as to whether Glover can stay healthy or if he’s one of those unfortunate players plagued with the chronic injury bug?? But with Ames really developing at the end of the season and a probably ready to play incoming frosh in Castillo, having Glover or not may not be that big a concern.

I am going to be a pessimist here. A one-and-done. If he is as good as RaeQuan Battle, I can see that. If he isn't better than Tylor Perry...

This is the game. Release to a guy like Joe Tipton that a certain number of schools are interested in you to build leverage to get schools into a bidding war for your services. With Tang at the helm, K State is a viable and realistic suitor that other interested parties should view as a legitimate competitor. Well Kansas State basketball isn't going to play this game. We will be competitive with NIL by giving recruits a solid and substantial NIL deal, but we will not get into a bidding war as Tang said he wants players who want to be in his program for other reasons besides money.

Possibly we are looking at Marcus Foster a s a replacement for Perry's shooting ability and ability to close out and/or win close games. Not sure how many games were won because of his ability to get to the line and make free throws, but the number was considerable. Now that is gone and is hard to find. Cam, RJ, and Dai Dai can fill part of that role but it would be nice to bring in another good or great shooter to be that guy. How does Foster shoot free throws?

Foster averaged 17 ppg and 7.5 rpg.
He shot .425 from the field, .297 from 3 and .813 from the line. He averaged 2 TO’s pg and 1 steal.
He scored 20+ 7 times, with 30+ twice
5 times he had double digit rebounds.
He’s more of a volume shooter from 3 taking 7 or more attempts from three 15 times
