Need better dudes.
We had them
- one has been injured all season
- one was dismissed
It is never an absolute to say that was our season, but that was our season.
One could make the assessment that we need more from the bench, but what we considered our bench in November has been starting all year.

One other "Look Back" - Ish as it turns out made the correct decision to go to Georgetown.
If Ish is on this team, he makes one to two Threes and we win.

This game was determined by three point shooting. 1 for 15 vs 6 for 14.

Most of the looks were good. Some came off great ball movement.

I have stated several times that this would be a disappointing season if we did not make a respectable % from three. So far we have not and it is disappointing.
After todays game we are making 31% of our threes in Big 12 play. Good chance that will be last in the league after todays other games are averaged in.

Six more chances in conference play.
And we can still lose a game when we are making threes. But it is a hell of a lot harder to win without making some.

Some late offensive rebounds and follows by TCU also hurt our chances of overcoming our lack of three point shooting. Mcnair does some good things but watching him on defense is torture.

I can’t believe how little they value each possession. Each time I think hey I’ll sit down a try and watch a game it’s the same thing. Terrible ball handling and lack luster shooting. Coach has some work to do on the recruiting side of things… all good guys just not that good at team basketball…. And what’s with Carter he was a real contributor last year.?….

Let's see, Cam, has added 10 pts. to his average this year, going into this game he was our leading scorer, one of our best rebounders, and was our most consistent scorer He or N'G is our best on the ball defender, he does turn the ball over more than he should, but I think he has been a contributor for our team, JMHO!!!

Cam is not the guy responsible for our losing. If we had 5 Cams, we would be undefeated IMHO. He had a bad game today. It happens.

weber use to eloquently explain why we lost and take the blame for the loss and say he will have to prepare his players better

You read my mind talking about Weber. Depressing to compare this year to his last. Don't attack me, just sayin'.

I stand corrected I said I have only watched a couple of games. And the two or three I did watch cam was not as active as last year in the games I have seen he could not buy a three. It happens good to know he has not fallen off..

Pick 'Em

Post by tmcats » February 18th, 2024, 2:19 pm

sunday afterthoughts:

1. this team cannot make mistakes and win on the margin, they are simply not talented enough to cover;
2. cam is too often a turnover machine (4) in critical moments - plus, 1-10 shooting;
3. cats' 1-15 from behind the line is something i'd expect at an eighth grade cyo tournament;
4. turnovers were 14 apiece, so that stat doesn't tell the story;
5. dng had a solid outing with 12 and 6 - wasn't enough;
6. perry plays his heart out with 24, but 0-6 from behind the line doesn't cut it for a volume shooter;
7. arthur's more the peasant than than king shooting 3-11 - that's just not good enough for wildcat victories - the winning on the margin thing;
8. still, that was a slop-in-trey that beat the cats at the end - it happens;
9. sold out gym wasted;
10. @ texas monday night doesn't bode well even though the steers have also been sucking hind teat of late as well.
