Re: New home for Tomlin?
This is a serious question. How can Tomlin play at any NCAA institution if he truly committed the inferred egregious act(s) in violation of ncaa rules? Here's what Linton said: "The NCAA Board of Governors has required each member institution to adopt a “serious misconduct policy” covering a number of potential allegations, including Title IX."
So, if Tomlin, indeed, engaged in "serious misconduct" as per NCAA policy, how can ANY NCAA institution accept him into the program? If they can, there is either a get-out-of-jail-free card when transferring OR Tomlin's actions weren't that egregious OR the transferor institution has developed lower standards. I suppose, sadly, that Tomlin and, certainly, KState, aren't required (or allowed) to divulge the reason for Tomlin's termination. If so, there's nothing the next institution could discover in the vetting process, other than the bar fight.
What a mess.

From BVM sports
Nae’Qwan Tomlin, a former K-State forward who was dismissed from their program a few days ago. Kansas basketball head coach Bill Self has been talking about the possibility of a midseason addition for several months, and with the semester coming to a close, now would be the time to bring a new guy on board. A name has surfaced — just not one that you would’ve expected.

But in the real world, people get fired for cause all the time. Most of them apparently get a new job somewhere else. If not, then there would be a lot of folks ranging from DUI to fist fighting to goofoffs to supply closet raiders who could never get a job again.

That would be par for the course for Self and KU basketball if they did take Tomlin. Self has already shown that he lacks morals/scruples when it comes to doing whatever it takes to win. That being said, I would be a little surprised if Tomlin went to KU, but you never know.SCKSCat wrote: ↑December 9th, 2023, 12:38 amFrom BVM sports

Money, a chance to play for a national championship, exposure to a national audience, coaches that have a record preparing big men for the NBA.stlcatfan wrote: ↑December 9th, 2023, 8:58 amThat would be par for the course for Self and KU basketball if they did take Tomlin. Tomlin would be a moron for not going to KU.
And he owes us nothing.

Would be strange indeed if Tomlin is picked up by a team playing in Bramlage this season.
Sounds like each institution sets their own misconduct policy. Ku, as we all know, has none so if self thinks Tomlin would help them win then they would have no reservations picking him up.

All I am trying to convey is the apparent disparity in what constitutes "serious misconduct" relating to student-athletes among the various ncaa institution. Huggins and Petrino are a completely different fact set.ksume2000 wrote: ↑December 9th, 2023, 8:56 amHuggins and Petrino come to mind.PurpleOnWhite wrote: ↑December 8th, 2023, 11:07 pmThis is a serious question. I'm sure KU would take him. If Tomlin were to go that route, however, that would speak volumes about Tomlin and his relationship with KState. .
