Re: Florida Atlantic Owls
I’m very concerned that we are able to keep the mental edge we have maintained in the tourney! Marque games in the last two and energy burn rate required in that OT, that’s off the chart.

I’m curious. In what way do they look like TCU and are scary?
Fastbreak ppg? TCU is #1 with 17.5 ppg. KU is #36 with 12.3. Texas is #46 with 12.2. FAU is #64 with 11.7. KSU is #80 with 11.2. That’s not really similar to TCU.
Maybe turnovers forced per game? TCU is #28 with 15.4. ISU is #12 with 16.5. Texas is #19 with 15.8. KSU is #37 with 14.8. WVU is #48 with 14.6. Ku is #63 with 14.3. Tech is #87 with 13.8. Baylor is #106 with 13.5, beat them twice. OSU is #145 with 12.9, beat them twice. Even Montana St is #95 with 13.7. FAU is #177 with 12.4. We’ve played a whole schedule full of teams that do it better but FAU. They’re just not very similar to TCU in that category either.
Well it must be steals per game. TCU is #44 at 8 ppg. Well ku is #17 at 8.8. ISU is #19 at 8.8. Texas is #50 at 7.9. KSU is #51 at 7.9. Tech is #84 at 7.3. WVU is #148 at 6.7. Baylor is #155 at 6.6. FAU checks in at #160 with 6.5. Again we’ve played a whole schedule full of teams who do it quite a bit better and FAU really isn’t that similar to TCU in that category either.
So what makes them scary like TCU because I’m not seeing it. I see a team that plays hard. Like most teams. I see a pretty athletic team, like most all the teams we’ve played. But don’t see a mirror to TCU. That’s just me but I’d like to know what makes you see TCU when you’ve watched them?

Did FAU not have do burn energy in their 3 tournament games. A buzzer beater against Memphis. A physical battle with Tennessee. A game they had to fight not taking a team for granted in FDU who was the crowd favorite.
The Cats also got about 3 more hours of rest than FAU. Not a huge thing but not nothing.

When Iowa State was playing well may be the best comparison to a Big 12 team.bhoovy wrote: ↑March 25th, 2023, 9:53 amI’m curious. In what way do they look like TCU and are scary?

Stating the obvious, but Its going to come down to who shoots the ball better when they have open looks. Every team is good at this point in the tourney. Just need to do what we do and hit the open looks when we get them. We all know we will be well coached. Just have to execute. We're the better team, but not by a big margin. EMAW

So far we have ran into a couple of buzz saws and managed to prevail. It would be nice to win this one by 15.

it comes down to k-state turnovers, ten or less guarantees a victory. that's been the case all season. the two best players on the floor will be markquis and keyontae. take care of the ball and it is off to "final four." don't and it's back to manhattan, this time kansas.

I’ve only seen them play about one half of basketball and what stood out to me is all five guys are very quick and they play with tremendous energy and recover extremely well on defense. That’s the similarity I see with TCU. I don’t know why they don’t force a lot of turnovers. From what I saw, in my short sample, I’d think they would.bhoovy wrote: ↑March 25th, 2023, 9:53 amI’m curious. In what way do they look like TCU and are scary?
