Tang at KC Catbackers Tues 05-24-2022
Is anyone in the KC area going to this event this evening at the Sporting KC Budweiser Brew House?

Tang made his first appearance, at any of the Catbacker events, at lunch in Emporia. He had some good things to say (about when the roster will be complete), as did Curtis Kelly (about his thoughts on players transferring out) and FB assistant Malone (about a former player that transferred out).
Some of it was here, but some of it was during some table talk.

Article in the Wichita Eagle
What.struck me was Tang saying he can get by next year with only 10 scholarship players.
I would prefer some more warm bodies. Evidently he has seen "Thhe Boot"
In the article he.said Weber is a great.coach, but he and his staff couldn't get good players.

My initial impression upon seeing him was his hair looked like it had taken on more gray since I saw his last picture.

MY old man "Get Off My Lawn" opinion on last night
The KSU Athletic Department need to recognize Wichita, Topeka, and especially Kansas City are different. It might just be me, but I did not see any TV, radio, or newspaper coverage on the event. Kansas City is the largest metro area in the KSU region.
President Linton needs to understand these types of events help in recruiting students.
If there are less than 750 people at an event like this in KC, the preparation should be evaluated.
Now get off my lawn.

Sounds like he’s finding out that getting good players to a small town two hours from anywhere might be more difficult than anticipated. It’s something that needs to be recognized.SCKSCat wrote: ↑May 25th, 2022, 12:32 amhttps://amp.kansas.com/sports/college/b ... 67067.html

If he says he can win with only 10 scholarship players next year, he is clearly striking out on the recruiting trail. You can at least fill the spots with project players. If they don’t pan out they transfer.

Constant negativity is tiresome. Throw in something positive or uplifting on occasion. ')

I did on the other thread. And on the football board. That said, my comment about finding if hard to get players here is a realistic one. Weber stuggled to keep the shelves stocked, and he’s been at this job for a long time. Martin’s recruiting was starting to tail off at the end too. It’s just realism, not negativity.ToledoCat#3 wrote: ↑May 26th, 2022, 6:14 pmConstant negativity is tiresome. Throw in something positive or uplifting on occasion. ')

Martin's last year had Angel, Dies, and Gip as fr.s, if that is tailing off, we should tail off more often.
