We’ll maybe the coaching carousel is about to come to a halt? Will be interesting to see who the candidates are that BYU targets. Wouldn’t imagine they would be a high profile candidates, but wondering how much more clout BYU has being a Big12 school?
BYU has never hired a HC that is not a Mormon.
So they are not going to take Coach Tang from us.
I am reading current assistants are being considered.
I wonder how competitive BYU will be next year.

if coach tang rejected arkansas, he sure as the dickens wouldn't be going to provo. think of the standard that set? how many programs are more attractive than arkansas basketball? kentucky, maybe florida and texas in the sec. i'm not sure any in the b10 beyond newcomer ucla. unc and duke in the acc. my point is that was a very high hurdle gene taylor jumped keeping coach tang here over fayetteville.

Always wild to track how a head coaching carousel starts:
1. SMU fires Rob Lanier (who ends up at Rice).
2. Andy Enfield leaves USC for SMU.
3. Eric Musselman departs Arkansas to replace Enfield at USC.
4. John Calipari exits Kentucky to follow Musselman at Arkansas.
5. Mark Pope says goodbye to BYU to go to his alma mater Kentucky.
6. BYU hires…..???

Maybe I am missing something but I thought they hired DeVries from Drake.
I believe he is joining DeVries' staff. A nice pickup for WVU.

Thanks-I should have realized that.

The wording of the Tweet from the Voice of Morgantown was a little confusing, for sure.

ESPN Sources: Phoenix Suns associate HC Kevin Young is finalizing a long-term deal to become the next coach at Brigham Young University. An aggressive push to hire NBA’s highest paid assistant lands BYU its top target.

Well, he checks all the boxes. His last name is "Young." He is Mormon and he is an experienced coach. Looks like he would be a good fit at BYU. Good for them.
