Selling a program is just part of the equation. Some will say that curriculum and academic prowess is part of that equation, but I think it's minor.
A huge selling point IMO, is one's relationship with the coaching staff, and particularly the head coach. That was my experience.
Given two programs that were fairly even, my final decision was swayed by the head coach. It was the game changer. His personality, his demeanor and his vision of what he thought was possible sold me.
Is this a strong suit for Bruce Weber? I don't know Bruce, but I'd guess it probably isn't. Bruce has many fine traits, and maybe a mature kid will see those and be drawn to them. But most kids are influenced by that undefinable thing called charisma.
