Seniors eligible for another year?

Post by ToledoCat#2 » March 14th, 2020, 10:05 am

I heard on TV this a.m. that seniors who missed their chance at a conference championship may be granted another year of eligibility. If true, it shouldn't affect football, but could be a serious factor for all other college sports.

I think it may be OK for baseball & track, but not basketball.

I agree Katlander. Basketball played the entire season and only missing the end of year tournaments. Eligibility has been used.

Looks like spring sports get an extra year.

Hopefully this goes for all of them and not just seniors. I know there is no way to be totally fair but this could be a bummer for the guy who has been waiting for three years to play and now the guy ahead of him is back for another year. He will graduate the following spring and was not going to stick around another year. Just one of the unfortunate side effects.

Personally, I would not change the rules one bit. Life is full of difficult experiences and lessons. The millions who just lost their jobs don’t get a do-over.

Agreed. Seniors in HS don't get do-overs either. Move on. Life sucks sometimes.

You mean college athletes who are being exploited? Now you're arguing for more football? LOL...
