LOL What a clown show this Gene Taylor runs, lets hope he is a Nostradamus as well and has seen Coach K hoisting Big 12 championship trophies over his head many times in years hence.

appears so.
No rant, Coach Snyder is and always will be K-State football to some of us. Very disappointed in a school I have contributed to for 60 plus years.

Not every single time they're moving. But the incredulous story he's spinning is that he unilaterally decided to give Bill Snyder a whopping "parting gift" of $3 million. It was money he didn't have to pay him, and it raises questions about his fiduciary duty to donors to the athletic department. Now, if that is money that the big donors have earmarked for Bill, I guess that's their prerogative to tell Gene to give Ol' Bill several million dollars. If that's the case, I hope they'll replenish the coffers.
But this looks like a "retirement" that was prearranged in the recent 5-year contract that was signed. And it helps to explain why a 78-year-old coach got a contract through age 83, a puzzling event if ever there was one. The truth is that Bill was fired and is now getting his ridiculous buyout, but they don't want the story to be that Bill was fired, so they're calling it a "gift" in appreciation for all Bill has done. Guess they think the public will believe anything, but it's a transparent lie. If it's a buyout, OK, but call it that. Don't lie about it. College athletic departments shouldn't be on record as "gifting" $3 million to a departing coach or anybody else.
Further, it could certainly rub some donors the wrong way. If Gene is just going to give millions of dollars away when he's ostensibly not legally obligated to do so, some people may say to hell with giving any more money to the athletic department. The fact is that Bill was fired, this is his buyout, not a gift, and it explains the nonsensical matter of him getting a 5-year contract just four months ago.
