Depth Chart

Post by katlander » March 31st, 2024, 12:49 pm

A few surprises here but largely what you would expect. Glad to see that Portier and Uso are back, along with several other good players I was already aware of.

Biggest surprise is that, at 164 pounds, Sterling Lockett is one the 2 deep at receiver and is projected as the No. 1 punt returner.

Cody Stufflebean is starting at DE opposite of Mott. They are backed up by a lot of talented young players including Tobi, Chiddi and others. Should be a strong and interesting group.

Avery is backed up by Knuth then Blake Barnett. Washburn transfer Kellen Simoncic is very experienced and a solid player but not on the depth chart.

Joe Jackson is No. 2 RB and true freshman DeVon Rice from Vegas is No. 3.

Jake Fabris is shown as starting safety and has been a pleasant surprise since he walked on campus.

Our starting o-line looks really solid with the return of Portier and the transfer of Easton Kitty. RS freshman Devin Vass from Florida is on the 2 deep. Impressive because we have a lot of good prospects there. He must be a good one.

For some reason they had some of last year's players listed to the far right. When I copied it things got funky. I didn't notice until you mentioned it. I'll try to clean it up.

Thanks for the link, if Snyder was still in charge we wouldn't know what the two deep looked like until the day before the season opened LOL.

that receiving corps of brown, cephas, johnson, with oakley at tight end could be the best ever at this school. plus, giddens has shown a lot of game out of the backfield.

I can't see many weaknesses on this team. They may exist but I can't see them. Pretty impressive bunch.

It might be fair to say even though we lost some key dudes off last year's team; KSU has a good corps of youger players, newcomers & veterans that may well surprise some people. I'm not saying there won't be some growing pains integrating some parts of the team. But we've got some talented players that will likely "step into the breech" very nicely next season.
