This situation reminds me of what I have told a number of high school athletes in my time when a kid says he's quitting sports to go to work: High school sports are over in the blink of an eye, and you have the rest of your life to work.

So true Spot. My line coach used to say that when somebody left the program during two a days.
But it’s hard for a 16/17 year old to grasp that when they want money to buy a car or other things.

There were 3 talked about today but none sounding like locks or heavy leans. It may be elevating Romaine to the starter. But there’s still plenty of time to add someone.

A ton of respect for Jake. It is rare in today's world where a young man with an incredibly bright future in football gives all that up to serve others.

Good luck to you, Mr. Clifton. Thank you for all you have done for the Cats.

I wonder how well Snyder would have done if he had to deal with the portal.
He had success developing walk ons and filling out personnel gaps with JUCO players.

Not well, imo. I wouldn't either. Straight nonsense. It's why guys like Snyder, Saban, etc... are out and guys like Coach Prime have jobs. I doubt Klieman stays in it more than 5 more years, honestly. Why would you? I know... $, but, at some point, you've got enough of that, and he doesn't seem that greedy. I just think he will tire of this circus.

Snyder was never a great recruiter even for that time period. So yes he probably would have struggled mightily in this era of college football.
