coach klieman's pre-spring presser ...

Post by tmcats » March 5th, 2024, 1:35 pm

i'm not going to bullet point this one because it's mostly coach speak. the one thing that did stand out was simplifying the pass game. i believe coach wells is going to have a major impact on the offensive side particularly in that regard. i wonder how it's going to work with conor riley though? likely riley does run game, wells the pass game.

I got the feeling that Coach Klieman likes what Wells has added to the passing game...a lot.

Sounds like the pass simplification was primarily for the receivers but may also be beneficial with a young QB. With the way Avery can run and create I see no reason to complicate things. Just let Avery be Avery and use his God given judgement and ability.

i saw a picture of avery the other day and commented to a relative that he's gotten bigger. the relative is friends of the johnson family. he said avery's size won't be an issue going forward.

I am trying to curb my enthusiasm to an extent, but the Avery Johnson era could be a great time to be a Wildcat. Pray that he stays healthy.

My only concern is that he stays healthy.... The kid is going to be elite. The O-line should be good again. WR's need improvement from last year and the loss of Ben is really going to sting. In some preason predictions we are predicted to go to the playoffs.

I think he's one of those kids that you don't need to have designed runs for him. I think there should be some, but he's capable of extending a play and is able to rip off a long run. If they play a team playing man, he's probably going to have a lot of yards with his legs. My guess is teams will have to put a spy on him to keep him contained somewhat. But even then, He's most likely going to be faster than the spies, though...

He's got mama's cooking & the training table. He'll be fine & be able to keep his weight up where it needs to be without sacrificing any speed.
