I don't mind K-State being the "favorite" to win the Big 12 Conference Title.

I hate to admit it, but KU may be a bit underrated in this CFB Playoff ranking at the moment.

In my estimation, the Big 12 will get in at least two, possibly three Big 12 members into the "12-Team" CFB Playoff in the 2024-2025 season.

As crazy as it sounds, those jokers in Vegas usually know what they are talking about. My thought would be that they aren't going to give KU better odds because they have seen Daniels injured and missing more than half of the last two seasons, so why would you give him the benefit of the doubt, especially considering last season was back issues, which could crop up at any point in the season. They also don't have Bean to fall back on, so if Daniels goes down they are looking at Ballard again, which I think would be a problem if he had to play multiple games, or a true freshman. Also losing their OC, OL coach and the Co-DC I believe might also factor into their thoughts.

All those odds from Vegas are coming from the perspective that our schedule won't be as tough next year. At this point, who knows. But that perception is helping us boost our stock in terms of what Vegas thinks of our chances, which in turn benefits Avery Johnson as well. Just hoping none of the players read this crap because betting odds don't win football games.

Vegas odds are what they are at the beginning of the season for next year. Then, after a few K-State games you'll probably see the number move one way or the other after a few games. Or, if the odds makers want to adjust their numbers based on public/bettors perception, then they'll likely do that too. Either way, the bookies usually always win. Especially on season win totals & Heisman winners, cause there will only be one winner of each Heisman & the over or under totals for each team at the end of the season. :geek:

Was interesting reading on Twitter yesterday that the Heisman thing was what was used by the supposed "big boys" when they were trying to recruit Avery. Basically trying to tell him that he can't win the Heisman "at a place like Kansas State."

Such B.S. Sure glad Avery decided to prove them wrong.

listening to coaches recently, here are some takeaways ...

1. sunshine is all that they had hoped for and more - likely just two years to enjoy;
2. the offensive line is being led by andrew leingang - former north dakota poy;
3. junior dj giddens may be in his final season - running with power;
4. pretty sketchy as to depth behind d.j. - joe jackson and maybe the vegas freshman devon rice;
5. defensive end deepest position group - chiddi, toby, jordan allen (homerun class) behind mott and stuffelbean;
6. starting corners are garber and parrish - in search of depth but may be best starting combo in the league;
7. nose tackle continues to be a hassle - uso needs work on pad level and aggressiveness;
8. wide receiver group is deep - look for brown, cephas, johnson as starters;
9. v.j. payne described at times as being like a giraffe on ice - but so athletic at safety with sigle being the backside alpha male;
10. no mention of special teams, yet. :?

They aren't wrong. He's got no shot at a Heisman here. The press won't let it happen. Doesn't matter how well he plays. That's a fact.
In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.

4) we evidently are always going to have problems with depth at RB since we just ground and pound ONE dude all season long. Guys don't want to sit and watch that are good enough to get reps.
