So the preseason predictions should have us, Utah and Arizona in the top 3 I would imagine and we don’t play either this year in conference play.
Avery is going to have to step up obviously, but there’s a real chance of going undefeated if the OL replacements come together quickly and he has a good season.

247 oSu fan site take on k-state game.
SEPT. 28 — @ KANSAS STATE
The Cowboys will know what their standing in the Big 12 Conference is before October comes, with dates against Kansas State and Utah on the docket to open conference play.
I look at it as just getting it over with. If you want to play (and beat) the best, you might as well play the games before inevitable injuries come up and you haven’t spent many games showcasing your playbook.
After the game in Stillwater from 2023, I expect the Wildcats will want revenge behind new starting quarterback Avery Johnson. This will probably be a primetime night game in front of a raucous Bill Snyder Family Stadium. It’ll be the first trip outside of the state of Oklahoma in 2024.
---
MCCLAIN’S SEASON PREDICTION
I think Oklahoma State goes 10-2 with losses to Kansas State and another team, maybe Baylor? This team is experienced and has complete expectations of winning the Big 12 and playing in the College Football Playoff. Those should be the two goals for a team who is fully capable of achieving both of those in the first season of the 12-team playoff, in my opinion.

I won't miss them. I do like this schedule, though. We play both Arizona schools and BYU, along with our traditional Big 8 rivals KU, ISU, oSu, and CU. Tulane on the road in the second game of the season could be pretty tough. I think Coach Fritz will get UH turned around. It looks like Neal Brown has WVU back on track, as well. A good, competitive schedule. Should be fun.

Tulane will likely be a tough one next season. Louisiana produces quite a few, great D- 1A prospects every year.stlcatfan wrote: ↑January 30th, 2024, 5:27 pmI won't miss them.
