a few other points:
11. k-state was four-for-four on fourth down attempts;
12. three stud lineman returning next season: christian; carver; hadley;
13. the defense played really good football throughout;
14. d.j. giddens adds another five-ten pounds, man, he's going to be a load;
15. not much squawk chirping on X last night .

1. cooper beebe should have been game mvp but the story is too deep for media dolts to understand;
2. that said, andre ware did a superb job capturing the essence of the game focusing on him and avery;
3. he even called out conner riley for going conservative, lol;
4. avery looked like an uber gifted "freshman";
5. he missed on several throws and runs that will howard would have converted;
6. but he made plays will could not including the shifty touchdown run;
7. that final drive was so chris klieman, wasn't it, 75-yards, seven and half minutes;
8. jayce brown makes just a sweet catch on a perfect timing throw to end it;
9. if not for the pack's fake punt touchdown, this one would have been a blowout;
10. still for me, this was one of those pit-in-stomach, what-could-have-been seasons.
10. This season was a disappointment based on expectations, mainly that OSU game. The ISU game was highly disappointing also but ksu's fate had been decided by that point and we had some guys playing that knew they were transferring before that game....and the effort showed.
7. This was the second time this past season that I felt like KSU was NOT going to be denied a td. I just knew ksu was going to get into the endzone despite two plays being called back. The other time was against Mizzou with the same events, i think 2 td's were called back in the drive of that game also.

I'm sure there were some "tells" that he (or one of the up backs) was instructed to look for. Once they were recognized, it was either automatic or a blocking scheme was called. He would never run without approval.kswrangler52 wrote: ↑December 29th, 2023, 2:03 pmWonder if the fake punt was a called play or did Blummer just see a big hole andd took it?

The way Beebe pulled from right blocker to lead blocker makes it seemed planned to me.PurpleOnWhite wrote: ↑December 29th, 2023, 2:20 pmI'm sure there were some "tells" that he (or one of the up backs) was instructed to look for. One of the biggest surprises to me last night was after we had our sneak for the first down that our ST wasn't looking for that same thing from NCSU when they did theirs. Bowl games are perfect opportunities to pull stuff like that out because if it doesn't work, who cares. Just kind of surprising we weren't watching for that more.AlabamaLane wrote: ↑December 29th, 2023, 2:52 pmThe way Beebe pulled from right blocker to lead blocker makes it seemed planned to me.PurpleOnWhite wrote: ↑December 29th, 2023, 2:20 pm

From this I saw a great receiving corps for next year.
A very talented Qb and running back.
I really like Payne on defense; he put some big hits on NC State players.

Going into this season I felt we could beat every team on our schedule. Coming out of the season I feel the same way. For the second straight year we ran into a buzz saw in a team that saw their stars align, This year it was Missouri, last year it was Tulane. Last year we faced an Okie State team just going into a funk. this year they were just coming out of it. The first half we played a good Texas team like we were scared, the second half we played like we were as good as they were, then made a bad decision at the end. Then the most frustrating and just weird game I have ever been to saw a good Iowa State team score on one long play after another on what had been a very good defense. Cold with wet snow and bad roads made for a generally miserable experience. Friggin crazy game! Still they only beat us by a touchdown. Overall, it was a good year but still disappointing because we had a chance to be great.

the iowa state game was an anomaly. lee in particular, plus savage and others likely had checked out beforehand.
