I hope he doesn't leave now for A&M

That would be a huge blow

This could have gone in one of the already existing threads. Course people don't like to read these days.

And to be honest it is a little silly to be saying that all these high profile schools would be coming after a freshman QB who has never even started a game in college and hasn't yet proven that he can be a dynamic passer.

If/When he leaves, it will be because a bigger payday beckons him. He looked really good in one game so far. He needs to prove himself and I think he knows this. He'll be at KState for at least one more year.

If he leaves it will be solely because of his relationship with Collin Klein. I hope Coach knows that because of the timing of all of this, the last thing he wants to do is blow up the bridge to where he would not be welcomed back to Manhattan in the future.

there is absolutely no evidence that he. is following Klein. He is happy with the Buford, he is happy in manhattan his parents are in manhattan.

To be clear, I predicated my comment with "If he leaves", not that he is. I have no doubt many players and coaches including Collin Klein loves Manhattan and K-State. But it has been well documented that athletes do not choose colleges because of their connections with the institution or program. They choose based on their relationship with the coaches, namely the person who convinced them to come to the school. I am pretty sure the transfer portal is a result of that data since coaches are able to leave with no pushback.

This is about what AJ believes is best to help reach his goals. Although HCCK had something to do with Johnson coming to K-State, it was OCCK that got him there. With everything going on at K-State involving the football and basketball programs, if AJ has no doubt he is staying, he can simply make that known with a tweet or comment from his parents.
