The Portal and Will Howard, is he looking for the best opportunity to gain 'NFL status'?

I think the key is for Will to play smart. One of his issues here was throwing into tight windows. Improvising and creating is not a strength. Hopefully there will be open players at OSU. If not he will have to find a release valve receiver or just throw it away. If there are days he is not able to move the offense he better be ready to hand the ball to one of the other QBs and not take it personally or let it effect his confidence. Nobody is perfect. A mature and confident approach is the way to go.

Derek Young at Twitter posted Dylan Edwards is going to leave Colorado and enter the portal.
I wonder if he burnt bridges with us.
Things in Colorado are are mess.

"The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Edwards will have four years to play three at his next stop. Kansas State is likely to be a transfer option. He is from Kansas and his father Leon Edwards played collegiately for the Wildcats"

I'm kind of on the fence about this. I get it that Edwards would give us a more dynamic backfield, but I feel like having him back on the team after he bolted from us for ND, would be a bit of a slap in the face to DJ Giddens. We also have some promising young guys coming up as well (Jackson, Price, Rice) and I would hate to see any of them transfer because of a guy who already quit on us. JMO.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

Just a couple of counter points to consider. In this day and age of the TP and NIL, why would anyone be loyal to kids other than make sure they have their scholarship and they have a shot to play. The rest is up to them. Many kids get good under our development and then take the first deal for more money that comes to them. There is no such thing as loyalty now. It’s a contract. You follow the terms of the contract. We bring another guy to compete for the spot, so what. Kids need to play Better and earn the starting role. Don’t like it? Play better and work harder.stlcatfan wrote: ↑April 23rd, 2024, 2:23 pmI'm kind of on the fence about this. Secondly, I’ve not seen anything from anyone outside of DJ that is serviceable as a back up to DJ, let alone a starter. Maybe it’s there but I haven’t seen it. I hope it is. I’d recruit the heck out of Dylan and see what happens. JMHO on it.

My guess is that he will be looking for a school in need of a starting running back (I've heard NU's name thrown out there). I don't know what KU's RB situation is for next season, but we have our starter with DJ.
I could be totally off base. Maybe Avery convinces him to come back to K-State. Who knows?
