I know where you are coming from. I would suspect that if KState picks him up, there will be some RBs going elsewhere, but I don't think any of them will be DJ. I would not be surprised if Edwards goes somewhere else other than KState.stlcatfan wrote: ↑April 23rd, 2024, 2:23 pmI'm kind of on the fence about this. I get it that Edwards would give us a more dynamic backfield, but I feel like having him back on the team after he bolted from us for ND, would be a bit of a slap in the face to DJ Giddens. We also have some promising young guys coming up as well (Jackson, Price, Rice) and I would hate to see any of them transfer because of a guy who already quit on us. JMO.
As time goes on, I think the stability at Kstate will be attractive to prospects. I doubt Edwards will decide immediately. He'll be shopping around and other schools will be looking to offer him more. If, after all of that, he chooses KState, I'll feel pretty good about it. If he is chasing money, it will be better if he goes somewhere else.

If it wasn't for Avery trying to convince him to return to K-State, I would say that "sold to the highest bidder" is the most likely outcome for Edwards. Sure, he will look for a place where he can play right away, but at the end of the day, all things being equal, he will likely go where he has the most money thrown at him. Like I said earlier, I personally am on the fence about whether or not he returns. If he does, great. If he doesn't, whatever. JMO.

I’m on the fence too STL. I would love his talent but not at the expense of potentially wrecking the locker room.
He probably needs to get the bag now because it may not exist for him in the NFL.

Just from watching him against TCU and a couple of other games last year, put both DJ and Dylan in the huddle together
- both can line up in the slot
- both can line up as a WR
- DJ at 212 can act as a lead blocker (fullback). This might be the best for DJ's NFL future. He might get a paycheck as an H Back or a small TE.

I guess I don’t get this whole “possibly wrecking the locker room” attitude he’s being attributed with. What has anyone heard in terms of how he was viewed in the CU locker room or as a teammate? I think too many still have their undies in a bind simply because he changed his mind and didn’t come to KSU. Doesn’t make him a bad person or a team wrecker because he changed his mind. Instead of labeling or insinuating he’s that’s let’s let him have the opportunity to prove it himself.
I too wish he’d have stayed with his original choice of KSU, but as an 18 year old kid he changed his mind on a big decision because he thought it might be better for him to go elsewhere. Big whoop. He’s found out CU and uncle Deion wasn’t what he thought. He’s a talent. Rare speed. Good friends with our star QB. I’m all for it if the coaches believe he’s a fit.

Yeah, I'm fine letting our coaches hash this out and make the call. They may even be better at it than we are.
