While transgender stories have become more visible in the media, there are many identities and terms outside of the two most culturally accepted genders — man and woman — that fall under the trans umbrella. And in many social circles, the vocabulary related to gender identity is unfamiliar or inaccessible.
Gender identity is an extremely personal part of who we are, and how we perceive and express ourselves in the world. It is a separate issue entirely from sex, our biological makeup; or sexual orientation, who we are attracted to. There are dozens of dynamic and evolving terms related to how people identify. While this glossary cannot cover every possible identity a person might have, it provides definitions for some of the most common vocabulary necessary to understand the layered world of gender.
Below is a guide to some of the topics and terms discussed in “Gender: The Space Between,” as defined by the Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, The Trevor Project, and the National Center for Transgender Equality.
Gender Identity Definitions
Agender: A term for people whose gender identity and expression does not align with man, woman, or any other gender. A similar term used by some is gender-neutral.

Katlander, thank you for posting that educational piece. The social subject of gender is not simple.
My solution is handicapping. Handicapping is done in many sports and it is a possible middle of the road solution. For everyone that suggests a separate classification, there are not enough people to make that feasible. I read there were only 10 students in Kansas in 2022 that identified as Trans.
Concerning the subject of mixing girls with trans people that have a penis (gender dysphoria), I go to the New York women's prison where 2 inmates got pregnant from the trans prisoner. Mother Nature took over. That should not be allowed.
As a Conservative Republican I wish my party would stay away from any gutter politics on this subject.

pretty simple this guy is just pretending to be a girl to win or cause a stir. He's a POS imo. Create an open division of biological Men or those identifying as something else. Gender is a big social and political issue caused by a very tiny minority of people.
I don't know why gender confused folks have to make a big public scene about it. Just quietly live your life out of the public eye.
And, no, men should not be allowed to compete is women's sports and women shouldn't have to locker room with men.
And, yes, Republicans need to let this gender issue fade from their political agenda.

For example, in Kansas, the State High School Activities Association recorded 11 transgender athletes during the 2022-23 school year, and three were trans girls. Before Florida’s law took effect in 2021, its High School Athletic Association had cleared 13 transgender students to play in the previous eight years.
A tremendous amount of debate for a very small minority.
