i sometimes wonder about these lists. i couldn't tell you who ku beat that was #1 at the time?

Don't know for sure, but it could have been OU or UT. Lawrence was a quagmire for OU at times.

ku upset ou around 74/75/76 when Nolan Cromwell was their QB. I don’t know if OU was #1. OU broke Cromwell’s leg the next year.

Yes, you're probably right. KU had some really mediocre to bad teams that somehow rose up & got the win against OU & UT during various years. The K-State FB win streak pretty much stood the test of time, except during a couple of the Mangino years for KU.

Yes, you're probably right. KU had some really mediocre to bad teams that somehow rose up & got the win against OU & UT during various years. The K-State FB win streak pretty much stood the test of time, except during a couple of the Mangino years for KU.
did you mean to write: except during the prince years at k-state? mangino was 23-41 in conference play. he beat prince three times, bill once over his eight year stay in lawrence, finishing 1-4 v. the legendary one.

Not many opportunities. For the few years when Oregon was good, the rest of the PAC was pretty bad. And they never played anyone OOC.
