Getting back in the groove as the season/academic year is in sight!
I have 9-3, 10-3 overall and a fringe Top 10 final ranking. Losses to Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Baylor (after a big revenge win over Texas). The OSU and Texas Tech back-2-back roadies really make me nervous. At Missouri then UCF at home the following week scares me too. However, I love the tenor of Klieman's teams going back to his days at NDSU. This team will not disappoint when we reflect upon the season in mid-January so long as the injury bug does not wreak havoc. I could definitely see a 10-2/11-2 type season too. I know the bowls have lost their luster but the program really needs to step up and win one that still matters.....
Interesting prediction. Seasons do tend to have some goofiness to them and you don’t typically win all favored and lose all underdogs so I get the Texas/Baylor win and loss.
You mentioned Mizzou/UCF as scary but I am looking at Troy. I didn’t attend the Tulane game last year but I won’t be missing the Troy game this year. I like to pretend that I have some sort of influence and being at home watching that it felt so hopeless. Troy will have a strong defense again and is the Sun Belt favorite. On the positive, facing 2 good defenses before conference play will definitely have the team prepped - I hate Mizzou but their D should be good.
All this being said, give me 15-0.

I think K-State is in the right spot. We are a CFP contender, likely the only one in the B12 this year.

My prediction is we will see a legit Pro NFL Offense that will go for 4th Down at a higher rate than any time in KSU history.
Mizzou is the predator. If we win by double digits, we will be 10-2 or better and play in Dallas again.
The game in Austin will be big.

Troy may be a test as well. They are ranked higher than Mizzou in some polls. Fortunately we have them at home.

Troy will not roll over. Better remember Tulane. If we don't bring our A game, they'll hang around til the 4th. They beat a good Coastal Carolina team by 20 in their bowl last year and return quite a bit of that squad. Good test before Mizzou.

you often write to us like a coach to fifteen-year-olds playing on your junior varsity team.
Why is there something rather than nothing?
