one of those "what the hell?" quotes: "Coach Cooper played a big role in me being offered. He's trying to bring back the white defensive backs is what he told me. He's pretty cool. I think it'll be a defensive start because they said they have some guys coming it at receiver. I don't think that door is closed, but defensive back is more where I fit."

What the hell? If this is being used to sell recruits, they are going about it in a strange way.

Really, DEI ideology is a two way street.

The Fitz interview with KU AD Travis Goff.

To me it is open to interpretation.

Might be DEI, might be just a kid being innocently unaware of what he was saying at the time. Who knows what the coach actually said versus what the kid heard and repeated. Admittedly, does come off kind of strange. I liken it to the comment from Castillo's commitment to Tang on the basketball side. Castillo's quote: "Coach Tang, Coach Perry, Coach Dowling and Coach Maligi. I feel that as an all-black staff they really know how to teach kids on the court and off the court." Society is hyper sensitive to comments like this, and we have to remember these are still just kids for the most part. They rarely think these comments all the way through before it comes out of their mouth. Given their age and lack of experience, I'm willing to cut them some slack.

Dr King's "Dream" just seems to become one step closer and two steps further away in 2024.

Now in any other sector of academics besides sports the teacher would face some sort of punitive action.

College Sports Only
@CollegeSportsO
No school's athletic department has been gutted like Oregon State:

- No longer power conference school

- Football: Lost HC Jonathan Smith, starting QB DJ Uiagalelei, backup QB Aidan Chiles, star RB Damien Martinez, star WR Silas Bolden

- Men's basketball: 4 of 5 starters transferred

- Women's basketball: entire starting 5 transferred after trip to Elite 8

Pour one out for Benny the Beaver.

Yeah I actually feel sorry for them. I wasn’t opposed to them being added to the Big12 but I know the logistics isn’t all that great. I do wonder if they would have still had the fallout had they become a member.

Hoping them and Wash St can put something together to form a new Pac12 with the MWC.

This could've easily been K-State just a few years ago.
