It sounds like NU AD (and alum) Trev Alberts is heading to Texas A&M, although I haven't seen anything official. That will not go down well with the Husker faithful.
wow. why would he do that? aTm will always be second fiddle to texas. it's not a cultural fit. he is leaving his alma mater. wth?

My question is why does A&M want him? Wasn’t he responsible for the last 2-3 failed head coach football hires? He may have finally got it right this time around, but still a lot to be proven. And basketball has been pretty meh. Even their baseball is far from their glory days. So what has he done to warrant a buyout to go to another P5 school??

no, bill moos hired scott frost and fred hoiberg. trev alberts canned the former and hired matt rhule.

“Our brand is not tarnished. It just needed to be dusted off and have a little bit of polish put on it,” Moos said. “We have so much to offer here.”

Moos’ first move was to hire football coach Scott Frost away from Central Florida, where he orchestrated a dramatic two-year turnaround resulting in an undefeated 2017 season. Frost is a Nebraska native, and he quarterbacked the Cornhuskers’ 1997 national championship team, but bringing him home was no sure thing.

Frost was the hottest coach in America at the time and his name was connected to other high-profile openings such as Florida and Tennessee. Moos landed him in December 2017 with a record contract for Nebraska: seven years, $35 million.

These are rich people. They paid I believe to get rid of a football coach.
I imagine that this was a lucrative offer for Albert's.
Maybe a Nebraskan can torment the Nutless Cattle who are joining the league.

It is confirmed.

Alberts is named in a lawsuit by a former Husker Women's Basketball Player for Sexual Harassment withing the Athletic Department.

So much for Big Red loyalty. Nebraska could match dollars with TAM if they want to.

law firms getting wealthy on this deal, methinks. god only knows how it turns out.

to me watching this unfold with a m&a eye, where the fundamentals are shaky, partners wanting out, then something is going to happen. it's not going to continue as is for the next decade.

Clemson has filed a lawsuit challenging the ACC’s grant of rights. They want out of the ACC just like FSU does. Here’s the lawsuit: https://publicindex.sccourts.org/Picken ... 1061204977

Nebraska has hired Washington athletic director Troy Dannen as the school's new athletic director, it was announced Wednesday.

Dannen's deal is expected to be for six years, sources told ESPN.

The hiring of Dannen gives Nebraska an immediate replacement for Trev Alberts, who left for Texas A&M last week. It also gives the school an experienced athletic director who brings a strong football background and both Midwest ties and immediate familiarity with the Big Ten.
