There's something you don't see every day. Good for the UA president.

Nice symbolic gesture but likely way too little way too late. Now 50%, that would be meaningful.

Really weird seeing Cal and Stanford, two schools that are really legit academic spots in the same league as North Carolina (remember Roy Williams guys getting credits without even having classes) and Miami. Some things just make zero sense.
Bowling Green wearing brown and orange is another.

It may be of interest to some that our former President , Kirk Schulz is in HOT water at WSU. Some senior faculty are advocating that he resign or be replaced. The revolt is not solely due to his actions or inactions during the Pac 12 conference melt down. He is also accused of mismanagement and financial malfeasance . Most serious is the accusations that WSU's academic ranking has dramatically declined since his arrival. My assessment is that it is a combination of bad luck and covid circumstances and actions and of course a athletic department that is deep in debt. The debt was in place upon his arrival . Kirk is a classic case of the Peter Principal in action IMO.

then ksu president schulz went to wsu in 2016. i knew him some and always thought he left because he saw sam brownback as a serious impediment to k-state's mission. wsu was building a new medical school at the time. and he viewed the move as an upgrade having come to mhk from mississippi state as dean of engineering.
kirk did a lot of good things here. finishing off nbaf being paramount. but also expanding the engineering school. building a sparkling new business school. and hiring john currie to fix the athletic department's financial mess along with all the capital projects that john led: west stadium center, veneer football complex, basketball training facility, and so on. even today, the whole north corridor project that is underway was kirk's concept now being implemented.
kirk schulz always came across to me as smart but never condescending. just the opposite in fact. i'm sad that he's found himself at odds with wsu folks. i was somewhat involved in his initial selection committee process here at k-state.

After 20+ years in the corporate world, it has been my experience that a gesture like this by the head of the organization is nearly always followed by a similar percentage pay cut for the rest of the organization. The rank and file employees don't give up as many dollars per person, but the impact on their livelihood is much greater.

It sounds like NU AD (and alum) Trev Alberts is heading to Texas A&M, although I haven't seen anything official. That will not go down well with the Husker faithful.
