2019 Kansas State Volleyball
Re: 2019 Kansas State Volleyball
baylor also made to round of 16. KU had a bunch of folks transfer/leave the team (some discussion of it on the volleytalk board). Will be interesting if any KSU players bolt.

Five KC-area players were on the court at the Final Four: Stanford (2), Minnesota (2), Wisconsin (1). The Stanford players were from Johnson County and both are first-team All-Americans.
Probably aren't going to ever win a head-to-head battle against Stanford, but there's a massive volume of talent in the KC Metro area and K-State is getting very little of it.

No way we win head to head against Stanford, but I agree we are losing the talent in the KC area. I look at Baylor. Their new coach McGuyre completely turn that program around after pretty much years near the bottom of the Big 12. He also had to deal with poor situation wrt the football program issues. They are getting good recruits to transfer there now as well. His offense isn't as static as KSU either. We need start being more creative IMHO, but often time over the last 3 season the passing hasn't been there. Brand was very under-rated in what she could do on second contact. Argh...frustrating to see KSU program slipping.
oops forgot to mention that TCU standout OH Élan McCall is transferring from TCU. I don't see at to school yet listed. Really good hitter. Had some injury issues this year.

I follow KS scores but don’t read much about the volleyball team. I don’t think playing time would be an issue for Dixon and Mutiri so what is the issue? Losing, coaches, teammates, etc.? I thought it was interesting that the freshman Hollywood was a star in the last match victory after not playing all season.
my guess is lack of improvement on the team and a desire to compete at a higher level that the coach was not able to provide. Look at KU, they have a new facility and a bunch of the team left this year after ~ 2 years on the decline post the Payne/Rigdon era. I went back and checked and Fritz only has a contract to 2020 which normally would have been extended by now.
Cutshot, please clarify about the timing of the contract. When you say her contract runs out in 2020, do you mean at the end of the 2019-2020 school year? or at some other point in 2020? Could the team just walk away from her this summer and bring someone new in?
https://www.cjonline.com/sports/catzone ... w-contract. It says through the 2020 season, so she has 1 year left. If they make a move it would likely happen now vs in the summer.
