Re: Building team depth
Most every (maybe all) P5 schools are now pimping highly-recruited athletes to every conceivable business in the area or associated donors. The athletic department staff ought to ask for pay raises given this added job requirement. They were already doing that though. Except now there’s no deceptio...

Re: Building team depth
i know. it's the ethics, isn't it. ends justify means. Exactly right. Although I suspect that you might think it’s okay for a school, athletic department, and apparel agency to take advantage of an athletes NIL and never compensate the athlete. And then call that “ethical.” Something something “loy...

Re: Building team depth
The blue bloods have always been paying kids. We (k-state) have either not been paying kids or were just really bad at it (although I suspect there were some highly recruited 4/5 star basketball players that got a little something under the table). NIL affords the opportunity to close the recruitme...

Technically, it will only be really expensive for the booster. At least, it's suppose to be right? The school shouldn't be paying anybody.

Re: Building team depth
The universities will have to have a financial advisor on staff for them. LOL But in all seriousness, it will be a disaster for some guys and some will make it work well for themselves. Actually, hiring a financial advisor might be a good idea. Sadly, we know many of these kids don't know how to ha...

Re: Building team depth
Good question. Right now, it seems to be a little of both. It is hard to build depth when your second and third string players transfer out, as we have seen. On the other hand, our coaches have done a nice job of filling in those gaps with good players off of the portal. Regarding NIL, the NCAA is ...

Re: College Football National Championship TV Ratings
On the WVU Big 12 board, someone posted pics from a Twitter page called, "Empty Seats Galore." Lots of mostly empty stadiums and arenas, even for rivalry games. I noticed a KU fan posted a pic of a mostly empty Bramlage. Interesting, considering all of the empty seats they normally have for their f...

Re: College Football National Championship TV Ratings
I was impressed by the speed across the board of both the Tide and the Dogs. That's where they are well above the average. You can only recruit speed, not coach it. It's the elephant in the room that nobody talks about but both Bama and Georgia are smack dab in the middle of the biggest region for ...
