Re: Recruiting Thread

247sports initial list of top players in KS Camden Beebe coming in at #10 https://247sports.com/Season/2023-Football/RecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=highschool&State=ks Another fairly stacked class (by Kansas standards). It's certainly somewhat arbitrary, but the top 10 kids all have a ranking of...

Re: Who’s the next coach

Exactly... KU has landed several kids from there (including a top 20 kid for next year who actually is from Wichita), OU has landed several kids from there. Other teams have built pipelines to Sunrise. Even if we're not getting the top 50 kids from Sunrise, even the next tier down would, on average...

Re: Who’s the next coach

Sunrise isn't a school filled with life long KS residents. It's a basketball academy that brings in players from all over. Besides the short drive, there is no inherent advantage for KSU or any other school. I would almost say it's a disadvantage because those kids aren't from KS, had to spend HS y...

Re: The "way too early to tell" 2022 K-State Baseball Thread

Transcript from Hughes' press conference...

Not a ton of insight, but it looks like starting rotation will be McCullough, Adams, Ruebeck with Fajardo and Wentworth in the mix as well.

Re: Who’s the next coach

If we have a new coach, I would love to see that coach make a concerted effort to actually get players from Sunrise in Wichita (I think Bruce has effectively given up). In the last three years alone, they've had nearly 20 DI players with several top 100 ranked players. I might be wrong, but I'm not ...

Re: Combine Invites

To that point, even if they aren't drafted, I would imagine Rivas, Yeast, Horne, Massie, Lenners, Imatorbhebhe, McPherson, Stubblefield, Johnson and Fletcher would all have realistic shots at free agent deals. And, for what it's worth, Kiper and McShay both now have Thompson as the No. 9 QB in their...

Combine Invites

Thompson is the lone player for K-State invited, which probably doesn't bode well for Rivas, Yeast, etc.

Overall, pretty down year for the Big 12 - only Oklahoma, Baylor and ISU had more than three players invited.

Re: Who’s the next coach

It's basketball and in the transfer era, so a roster can certainly be rebuilt quickly. But... we are a Nigel Pack injury/transfer away from having a borderline dumpster fire roster for the 2022-23 season. If that comes to fruition (and it certainly may not), whomever the coach is will have some majo...

Re: Who’s the next coach

Bruce did some whining/complaining a few weeks ago when he was out, the other coaches/players were out - basically said he didn't think it was fair that K-State had to play. To that, Mean Gene more or less rebuked those comments by saying that he understood that it was a tough situation, but that th...
