Re: So where will the Jaysquawkers. mutant chickens, play next year?

Whew! We can relax now. KU is NOT going to the SEC. I was worried there for a .....never. I really haven't kept up with the story. I thought some sports writer floated a rumor about KU going to the SEC because the SEC was looking to upgrade basketball. Has there been an update to the story, denying...

--------- I know I am Mr Negative, but I still do not know where people are going to park for their 500,000 square feet convention center. It appears they have construction going almost all the way to the street. You park around town and rent a city bicycle or hire a Guber driver to get you to the ...

Re: other schools' coaching news and stuff ...

Katlander & StlCatFan, I agree with everything you have said. It just seems the courts have been very clear, I think it’s going to be tough to find much wiggle room. I hope they figure out something, cause the way it is now doesn’t appear to be sustainable. Most of the bigger name schools will just...

Re: other schools' coaching news and stuff ...

I really don't know but believe there is a path to amateurism, unless they have made amateurism illegal. Two adults can make a contract as long as they are not doing anything illegal. If the Big 12 all agrees to go back to the old way and recruits agree to play for a university for the free tuition,...

Re: minutia ...

Pretty good list. As I looked at your list I noticed many were Kansans, so I am going to take a crack at "greatest Kansas Cats since Snyder1.0 QB - Avery Johnson RB - Darren Sproles, backed up by DJ Giddens and Alex Barnes (have to wait to add Dylan Edwards) WR - Jordy Nelson, Curry Sexton, Chris H...

Re: other schools' coaching news and stuff ...

I saw Gene Taylor yesterday and visited with him very briefly. Poor guy. I wish the Big 12 would simply refuse to cooperate with NIL. It's a stacked deck. Let the Big and SEC-ESPN do their own thing but opt out. Let them form their own semi-pro league and the rest of us can crown the true amateur co...

Re: other schools' coaching news and stuff ...

What if a group of Harvard alum billionaires decides they want to win a basketball championship? They go buy the 2 top collegiate players in the nation for, say, 5M each. Then they buy 6 complimentary teammates at 1M each. They hire the best coach money can buy and make the Fab Five look mediocre by...

Re: other schools' coaching news and stuff ...

UT has an endowment of 31B. Given a conservative 5% return that comes to over 1.55B per year. They could encourage donors to fund NIL and they could use the return on their own money to fund projects the alums previously funded. This may not even be necessary given the number of wealthy alums. Alaba...

Re: other schools' coaching news and stuff ...

NIL is a whole new thing and may have little or nothing to do with a university profitability. It is more about rich alums wanting to win and marketing deals. Some universities are creating products to sell in order to help fund NIL. Caitlin Clark was not paid a lot by the Indiana Fever, but she has...
