Re: Mountaineers
Sloppy at times but other parts of the game we played very well…14 point conference win on the road..also great to go deeper into bench, players must have corrected some things, coach Tang’s message received!

Carter with 23katlander wrote: ↑January 9th, 2024, 9:20 pmN'G, McNair, and Colbert all played well. This team is getting better. Now if TP could just shoot like he can.ksuatheart wrote: ↑January 9th, 2024, 9:15 pmJust domination in the paint. We need to make that our identity.
Kaluma 17
N’Guessan 17 and 6
McNair 12 and 9
Perry won’t have it every night, but on the nights he doesn’t this is what we need. Perry didn’t score much but had 5 assists and handled the ball the majority of the time.
We are starting to get an identity. One of playing tough D, hitting the boards hard and taking advantage of transition opportunities. And we’re starting to figure out what good 3 point shots are. I still wish he had all the pieces we started with as I do believe that group was a Big12 title contender. But don’t sleep on these guys. They’re growing a little each game out and will hopefully come to maturity come March.

Once again, a conference road win with no style points, but, but, but, who cares?
A win is a win and good TV entertainment on a cold night.;))))

We are a becoming a blue collar worker TEAM
i think fans get hung up on Perry not scoring bunches of points. We forget Tang has told us often any different player on a given night can go off for a lot of points. Last game Carter did not score a lot, but tonight he was our leading scorer.
The new wrinkle is role players are contributing. N'Guessan, McNair and Finister were difference makers.
Defense and rebounding are becoming are MO, and good things to have when playing on the road.

Good job Cats... didn't ever give up even though you all were down at the half. Came back in the second half & got the win.

We’re playing better and winning because the threes are less of a priority and we’re dominating the paint.
