Sky-Rocketing Health Care costs... You only have to blame yourselves...

Obesity.... need I say more?

For God's sake, eat a salad.

"By one estimate, the U.S. spent $190 billion on obesity-related health care expenses in 2005 — double previous estimates.”

Why should I subsidize someone else's pizza eating, beer drinking, dorito's snarfing binges?

Pick 'Em

Post by RichardZ » July 11th, 2019, 9:06 pm

When I was a kid cokes came in 6 ounce bottles.

Sometime ago I went to make a deposit at the drive thru at the bank. The gal behind the glass was, let us say, of good size. She looked to be in her early 20's. On the counter she had a cup that said..."The BIG 96".

I said, wow! that's a large drink. She said..."I just love Coca Cola."

I'm thinking the amount of sugar in that drink...3 freakin' QUARTS must weigh at least a pound.

just to clarify: one gallon (4 quarts) will weigh about 8 pounds. so 3 quarts (3-quarters) would be approximately 6 pounds.

but that's NOT 6 pounds of sugar.

know simple math is hard for many. and it doesn't change the issue here which is calories in vs calories out. but at least start from the position of real numbers that mean real things.

it's bad enough

I think it would be about 11 ounces of sugar in the 96 ounce Big Gulp. Over 1100 calories. Goodbye pancreas, hello diabetes.

If there is a fountain of youth it is weight training. Range of motion and volume of lean muscle mass are key to a long and active life.
