Sorry to burst your bubble but I know from first hand experience most charges are plead down to lesser charges with most people rarely seeing jail time with the exception of their initial time before they bond out or get released.

women-beating thugs shouldn't be part of collegiate athletic programs. oSu dismissed the chiefs star receiver for that very reason.
Hill, then a 20-year-old star returner and wide receiver at Oklahoma State, was at his apartment with his girlfriend, who was eight weeks pregnant with their child, when she received a text message from someone saying that Hill had been “hitting on high schoolers.” According to the police report and court testimony, Hill threw her phone and laptop into the hallway and shut her out of his room. When she re-entered, Hill hit her in the face, choked her and punched her in the stomach. He put her in a headlock that put “external pressure on her neck that compressed her airway” according to his statement in his guilty plea.
Officer Justin Reedy of the Stillwater Police Department, who met the victim at the hospital that night, noted her injuries and then went to Hill’s apartment to arrest him. It’s because “[I’m] black and she was white,” Reedy said Hill told him as he was being placed in custody.
In court, the victim courageously recounted the events of that night as she worked with the district attorney while the prosecution negotiated Hill’s sentence. A first-time offender, Hill, who faced one to three years in prison, received a three-year deferred sentence with probation, along with requirements for a domestic-abuse evaluation, an anger management court and a year-long batterer’s program. Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy kicked Hill off the team shortly after the arrest, which came less than a week after his punt-return touchdown beat rival Oklahoma. sports illustrated 1/10/17

I whole heartedly agree with you TM. Just pointing out the unfortunate way many of these cases are handled by the American Judicial system. I specifically say Judicial because that's where the lenient decisions are made.
