Texas vs Georgia
Someone needs to inform Kirby Smart that the way to beat Texas's defense is by throwing, not running the ball. I know Georgia is the #1 running team in the $EC, but Texas doesn't defend the pass very good, but they are solid against the run. Look at the teams they lost to this year - the teams that beat them did it by throwing the ball. It ain't rocket science. So far, Texas looking like Texas of old. It's only a matter of time before Herman has a brain fart.

Good win for the Horns and the B12. Hook'em
Georgia was overrated. And with the exception of the 1st quarter OU debacle, the B12 fared really well versus the $EC in the bowls. 3-1 vs SEC in bowls

I'm pretty sure none of the Big 12 bowl teams were favored to win their games so going 4-3 overall isn't too bad.

SEC-SEC-SEC So the 2nd place Big 12 team handled the 2nd place SEC team rather easily
You could here the Texas fans doing the SEC chant several times in the 4th quarter

What is worse ESPN, Fox News or MSNBC in selling mythology to their target audience? At least in sport we get a game and an outcome. Maybe we could get a real playoff , but that might upset the TV ratings if the K-States of the world actually win.

Georgia didn't want to be there. I'd say they thought they should have been in the playoffs. the whorns ran the ball on them. I think that UGa didn't think they could. UT mixed it up well.
This game is what scares me about the supposed incoming "smash-mouth" system. $EC is smash-mouth. Looks to me like unless you're 'bama, you need to be able to mix things up. Speed is still the difference between the best and the rest and I don't mean track speed.

I understand your point, but we aren't going out recruit Texas, OU, etc, year in and year out for those type of players, so our best shot is to line up and beat em to death. That is our best shot at at 8, 9, or 10 wins.hilltopwildcat wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2019, 8:47 amGeorgia didn't want to be there. Georgia didn't really have an answer for Ehlinger. He may not have racked up a ton of yards, but he gashed them and moved the chains at critical times. Overall he just looked a lot better than Fromm.

If Georgia didn’t want to be there Texas would’ve won by a lot. That’s the same excuse that was used when OU beat Bama a few years back, not buying it.hilltopwildcat wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2019, 8:47 amGeorgia didn't want to be there. I buy it. Georgia wasn't mentally there for the first quarter and a half and Texas was extremely motivated, but guess what? That's part of the game. Many bowl games have been won by lesser teams because the more talented teams felt slighted and we're unmotivated.
