We have all had tough decisions to make and after we make them and time passes we realize it was not the best decision. Nigel's decision to leave may not have been the best decision for him in the long run but he thought it best in the short term.
For Pack it is a 2 year play. Wong will be gone next year and the spotlight will be on Pack. He will be a good point guard and bomber, NBA will give him a good look. If they buy him some good players, Miami may even be decent next year.
Pack has had a good college basketball career.
But I have strong doubts if his dream to become an NBA player ever comes to fruition.
Sad, but a cold reality.
Hopefully he has his degree and will parlay it into a profitable professional career.
I remember at the time when he got his $800,000 2 year NIL deal I was torqued like a lot of college basketball fans. Well now I am ashamed of having this attitude.

NIL has given Pack a wonderful financial start in life. I probably came out of college at K State with $800. So Pack is blessed. Most have to struggle all of their professional lives to accumulate this much of a retirement nest egg.

So hats off to kids getting decent NIL deals. Hopefully they will not quickly squander their good fortune. The House settlement will likely force colleges pay players in multiple sports a NIL stipend. Everyone will get money, but no one will get a sizeable payday is the fear. Will the best like Pack get an extra measure of compensation for their skills? A new day is dawning.

it will be interesting to see if house v. ncaa eliminates nil, expands it, regulates it, or if nil just goes forward willy-nilly as is currently the case? nobody knows today because this will all be defined in the settlement and then surely reordered in future court rulings. so we are a long way from knowing the end game.

all k-state can do is play the game within the existing boundaries, if any, until this is codified. we see that today with avery's lav and coleman's haul. i'm guessing these athletes are seeing the best of what nil has to offer, as it will somehow be limited in the future.

I don't really see how they can limit NIL without making them employees and negotiating as a union. If they try to otherwise restrict it by creating a uniform set of limits, that would be seen as collusion, if challenged. I am not a lawyer, but I would think that is part of the problem as they wrestle with how to keep it under control.

Earlier today I read an article that said Congress is trying to change Visa laws that would permit a foreign basketball player playing in the U.S. to make money from a NIL deal. I may be incorrect, but it sounds like now a US college has to pay a foreign club team to get the rights to a player with the player getting some of the payment and the club getting some. This article opined that a if European players are allowed to come to America on a NIL deal the Euroclub system will suffer financially.
For American players on a college roster, it may discourage jumping into the portal as a flood of European players could tale a limit # of roster spots, and leave a transpotal jumper with no place to go.
