We did get some favorable calls. LSU got a couple also including a call against Johnson in the first half. Refs were calling every touch in the first half for both teams.

Sometimes little things make a game difference turn out positively.
I just read in the second half that we had 14 pts. off of LSU turnovers in second half. I would like to know how many total turnovers both teams had in the second half and the percent of conversion to points. Good defense can also be a good weapon.
Secondly, we made around 80% of our free throws, them 50%. How many FT attempts were made. Also, how many old fashion 3 pt plays for KSU were there last night, I recall at least 3. When you are not making 3 pt shots, these factors to me seem important.
Third, how many charging fouls did LSU commit. I seem to recall either Stan or Wyatt saying 6. If this is right that is amazing . I remember watching a video this summer where the coaches were teaching players how to get these kind of fouls; supposedly this is a Baylor thing.
Fourth I wonder if fatigue was a factor in poor 3 point shooting as neither team did well. I see this as an area we need to improve on. Mainly more from others besides Nowell and Johnson. Consistency with 3 pointers would be nice. I think that this weakness will affect how we finish in the conference and against the likes of KU and Baylor who have 3 pt specialists.
Lastly, I think N'Guessan and Tomlin did a good job against thier big man, AND DID NOT FOUL OUT!

We missed some threes last night but overall have been consistently good. 38% as a team. Carter, Greene and Massoud are all shootinG a higher % than Nowell.SCKSCat wrote: ↑November 24th, 2022, 9:20 amSometimes little things make a game difference turn out positively.

Great win. We fans need to keep these 2 game in mind when games later on go the wrong way at the whim of the ball and the refs.
Learnin' has a point about the Force. Sure looks like Coach Tang has it working in his favor.

Another observation: Some players who grew up playing BB in tough urban neighborhoods have a competitive edge that they have a hard time keeping under control when they get to college hoops. Self and team elebrations are fine and fitting.
Taunting and jawing and preening seldom have a good outcome. I hope Coach Tang squelches taunting in the bud before it costs us a game.

I think the hard practices and conditioning drills are making a difference at end of games.
I love that our coaches push the team extra hard in practices, but still allow them to have fun. These coaches and players seem to genuinely get along and care for each other.
