I was in Aggievilke watching and I can tell you, the room was all calling for Messingham.

People need to realize that even with Skylar at QB most the of the season, KSU was still 9th in total offense in the B12. Skylar is going to go down in the record books at KSU being 2nd all time in many categories. Not saying he's the GOAT, but he was very capable this year. All that and we were 9th in the B12. No excuses.

Fire Mess TODAY. He gone....

100%, I hadn't checked the B12 rankings, but at the start of the game, they showed Texas was 3rd in the conference. And that's with a new QB, coach and whatever turmoil on that team from losing.

Different circumstances, but Skylar Thompson has thrown 39 TDs over his career. Jake Waters threw 40 in 2 years.

Let's be real here. No QB on this roster has improved since they have been here.
Also don't give me Thompson as an example he isn't good either. He has school records only because he played as a frosh. and didn't really get pushed because everyone behind him was freaking terrible.
Waters was the last decent QB we have had.
Also if this Rubley kid is soooo awesome. Why not start him, give him some D1 experience going into next year. He could've still redshirt.

John Kurtz covered this on his YouTube Live earlier today. He basically said that Rubley isn't ready. He missed all but the first two games of his last year of high school, due to transfer issues, and then got injured in the spring. So he has basically missed out on two seasons of development. Before he got injured, Kurtz said the he actually believe he was behind a walk-on QB on the depth chart. If he stays healthy and develops well over the off season, I think we may see him move into a backup roll next year, and maybe push for the starting job the following year. That is assuming that we actually develop him... So a transfer QB is a must. We don't have a starting QB for next year at this time.

Anyone who watched this game and thinks we'll be fine with Messingham as the OC is just not in tune with reality or is comfortable with a ceiling of 7-8 wins per year. Frankly, anyone who watched the Navy game in 2019 coulda/woulda/shoulda come to the same conclusion.

Superlatives for today:
* K-State averaged 6.1 ypp, but only ran 48 plays because they couldn't convert on third downs (or, fourth downs) as they were 1-for-9

* If you take away Howard's TD run, the team averaged 4.7 yards per play - that might sound a lot, but would rank below tied for No. 112 among the 130 college football teams

*The offensive performance came against a Texas team that, by most measures, is the second worst defense in the league (after a historically terrible KU defense)

*The historically awful KU offense scored 56 points against this defense

*No Big 12 opponent had scored fewer than 27 points against Texas

*Texas entered this game giving up 437 ypg (we had under 300)

*Texas entered this game allowing 44 percent of conversions on third down (106th in the country - we were 1-for-9)

*Texas entered this game giving up 32 ppg (105th in the country - we scored 17)

The list goes on and on and on. K-State has a once-in-a-decade talent in Deuce Vaughn that is absolutely being wasted by an OC who has been in the minor leagues for his entire career, failed at his only previous power 5 job (Iowa State) and only holds his current job because his best friend since grade school is the head coach.

It's beyond embarrassing and the trajectory of this team will not change as long as Messingham is the OC.

Everything you said is 100% correct, but we need to shift some blame to Gene Taylor too. The only reason he got hired as AD was because we had every intention of hiring Chris Klieman and his staff away from NDSU to replace Snyder. There is a big problem when the AD, HC, and OC are all personally and professionally tied to each other. Nobody is going to get fired unless the incoming president (which is supposedly going to be announced on 12/2) fires Gene Taylor and starts forcing these coaches to be accountable.
