They didn’t have quite a few the week before but KState they were pretty much whole except for a few receivers

Wasn’t our opponent missing half their starting lineup?
Looks like ASU was down nine starters. I suppose that means they were down many more 2nd and 3rd team guys. They probably shouldn’t have played us so short handed. Amazing they could compete, let alone win.

Just checked in to see if people are done firing all the coaches and benching all the senior starters yet.....nothing like a two week layoff to dwell on a disappointing loss.

Settle down, I'm kidding.....kinda.

Gut check time for the coaches and players.

CHEERS!

I do disagree with people (talk radio) stating it was a program shaking loss. If you lose to Kansas that is program shaking. Coming up short to a solid sun belt team is not good, but far from horrible. KSU was without their best weapon Youngblood, they win if he was healthy.

Since 2000, here are the worst losses IMO ranked only by date.

2019 - Loss at home to 5-7 WVU team
2017 - Loss @ 5-7 Vanderbilt
2015 - Loss @ 5-7 Texas
2013 - Loss at home to 15-0 FCS NC NDSU
2010 - Loss @ 5-7 Colorado
2009 - Loss @ 6-6 Louisiana-Layette
2008 - Loss @ 5-7 Louisville (when they were in the Big East)
2008 - Loss @ 5-7 Colorado
2007 - Loss @ 3-9 Iowa State
2007 - Loss @ 5-7 Nebraska
2006 - Loss @ 4-8 Baylor
2006 - Loss @ 6-6 Kansas
2005 - Loss at home to 5-6 Texas A&M
2004 - Loss @ 4-7 Kansas

Arkansas State went 8-5 last year. Sagarin rankings has Arkansas going 9-3 and finishing 2nd in the Sun Belt West behind Louisiana. If there are bowls, they would make their 10th straight. I wouldn't think that would rank all that bad compared to these other losses.

Was that game at Louisville on a Thursday? Seem to recall watching it while traveling to Clinton, Mo on a sales call.

I like the kid and he plays hard and deserves to get some PT but for him to have nearly 20 offensive touches makes zero sense with some of the playmakers we have. Duece should get the majority of opportunities in the backfield as long as he can handle the load imo.
I will stand behind this statement

trotter's by far the best blocking tailback and that's the reason he plays.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

Agreed that his lead blocking and pass protection are top shelf, also he's got a pretty good nose for the goal line. I think some are a bit too hard on him because his explosiveness doesn't compare very well to some of the other backs. I wasn't at all displeased with how he was utilized the last two games. He's playing an important role in the team's success....which is probably a high compliment for a smart, hard-nosed, work-ethic kid like Harry.

Oh he can block away, I'm fine with that. 👍

Agree - love Trotter out there lead blocking and pass protection. Also think he is great when you get him off the edge (sweep, put him in motion for a hand-off, or a screen pass in the flat). HATE running him straight up the middle. He appears to have great speed and hits the hole at 100 mph, but sometimes you have to wait a second and give your big uglies time to clear out a lane, make a quick back-cut, or break an arm tackle and then get loose. You hand it off and tell him to hit the 2 hole, he is going to hit the 2 hole at warp speed, whether there is a hole there or not (and more times than not, he needed to wait a split second to see if a lane emerges or bounce it to another hole because the lane was completely plugged). Hate to throw shade on local kid that is literally giving it 110% on every play - just wish we could get him to take a quick pause to evaluate the lanes when running between the tackles. Love the heart. Love the attitude. Love the leadership.
