Former San Francisco 49ers player Dana Stubblefield was found guilty of rape by a Santa Clara County jury on Monday following a nine-month trial and five years after the woman reported the 2015 sexual assault to police.

He could face 15 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Stubblefield lured the then-31-year-old woman, who has developmental disabilities, to his home in Morgan Hill, California, on April 9, 2015, under the pretense of a babysitting job.

The jury found Stubblefield, 49, guilty of rape by force, oral copulation by force and false imprisonment and acquitted him of raping a person incapable of giving consent, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Jurors also found that Stubblefield used a gun during the assault, prosecutors said.

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Former Kansas State Wildcats running back
Leon Patton's arraignment on a child abuse charge has been set for Jan. 26.

The ruling Friday followed a three-day hearing. Patton is free on bond.

He was arrested Sept. 19 on a charge that stems from a July 15 incident at his Manhattan residence, where Riley County police responded to a 911 call about a child not breathing.

An arrest warrant indicated Patton "unlawfully and feloniously and intentionally shook" an infant, identified as his 2-month-old son.

Kansas State dismissed Patton from the team after the charge was filed.

He will have plenty of time to hit tight ends in prison.

Did the baby die? How could anyone do this to a tiny baby?? Totally disgusting animalistic behavior. That is actually an insult to animals.

not sure what happened to the child. shaking can, of course, cause severe mental injury as the brain is not matured. we probably will never know what came of his baby.

One article said emergency responders reported to a call of baby not breathing. I assume the baby lived but it didn't say. That is the real story. Not friggin football. I think shaken baby translates to extremely immature parent, or worse. Very sad to hear things like this.

Leon Patton Jr was the victim. He survived the incident and was placed in foster care. For how long, or the now teenager's whereabouts, I dont know, and that's probably how the poor kid wants it.

As far as Dana Stubblefield. Rot in hell.

yeah, it always confounds me that we're willing to kill people (even the unborn) but not willing to cut the balls out of guys who commit these crimes.
