Yes I live in Des Moines area and hoped it would be primarily ISU but it isnt. Mostly iowa fans who for some reason think their team is gods gift. They believe ISU and Big 12 is beneath them. So they are a perfect fit in the b1g. Arrogant as hell! I dont see coach K fitting there. Hopefully we dont find out.ksustars754 wrote: ↑June 12th, 2020, 7:36 amPersonally, I think Klieman would be a solid hire for them. However, have you met any Iowa fans? They are similar to Mizzou fans in their overblown perception of their program. I realize fans don’t make the hire but the elitist mindset comes from the top down. I have little/no worry that Klieman would be high on their list unless Gene goes there like mentioned above.
When they try and rib me I just remind them of the last time Iowa played the Cats and got spanked. I do have a lot of friends that are Iowa fans, I try not to let them know how much I really dislike the Hawks. 1 notch behind the domers on the despise list.

That's the way I felt about the Hawkeyes when I worked in Iowa.
However, KSU should be eternally grateful that the Hawkeyes produced Bill Snyder for us!

Agreed - very grateful Snyder came to KSU. No issues with Hayden or Ferentz for that matter. It's all about where you live really. Before moving here I didn't dislike the hawkeyes quite as much. When I lived in Omaha and SW Iowa I couldn't stand the Nubs. The fans with blinders on push you to dislike their team.ToledoCat#3 wrote: ↑June 15th, 2020, 4:01 pmThat's the way I felt about the Hawkeyes when I worked in Iowa.

Hopefully Coach K sticks around and continues to build on it. My brother mentioned Coach K grew up a hawkeye fan, so that is concerning too.

As I stated in another thread. Hype is only here to stir up crap. Quite obvious. Lots of good discussion on this board. Don't let him ruin it.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

You must not know the origin of the Powercat? Look at Iowa’s logo? They had it before we did and Snyder copied it. It’s a cool logo either way.
Picking a guy from a big 12 farm school that’s below ISU on the university reputation scale, that went to UNI, and grew up in Waterloo, would be the last thing people in Iowa City would support. You can take that to the bank!
I’d be more concerned about OK State buying him up if Gundy doesn’t survive.
