I have seen the same. His athletic ability could put him on either side of the field. Although in his commitment tweet he did say #POUNDTHESTONE which is usually the term for the RBs so he may at least want a shot at that.

The hudl highlights look very good. I think he’s a player. Not that I’m a recruiting guru by any means but I don’t understand he’s small offer list. We watched Jacardia last year and wondered why we were able to get him so late - I know small IHSA high school and qualifying risk right but still.

Anyways, whatever position he plays, he’ll be a great addition.

I talked with someone very familiar with the Webb City, MO program and this kid has passion for the game. He was used a lot in spread formations but would likely be a tailback with special teams impact. He played a little bit of defense and could play dback or possibly safety (Webb City doesn't normally play both ways with their players). Getting him in the weight room and training will help him mature and he will likely be a solid contributor for our Cats. He is very fast as the video's show. He is of course young like all our recruits but to my untrained football eyes, he looks like he has a lot of potential. He has a good morals and a solid work ethic and is being raised by his grandparents.

Webb City is a traditional powerhouse program in SW MO and this kid took them to an almost uncontested 4A championship last year. They have a great system but his speed was something their competition couldn't handle.

Wright appeared destined for Big 10 country, with offers from Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, but questions about academics rose around signing day so those teams backed off and filled his spot with other players. He seemed destined to end up at a JUCO, but his grades started to improve and word was he was trending towards having the right GPA, at least for some schools. K-State took a gamble on him that his grades would improve enough, and it paid off. Sometimes, you have to take a gamble when your in K-State's position and have less options. Even if it didn't work out, there would be some positive vibes that might help in getting him back after he ended up at a JUCO, and K-State could have even helped get him into a K-State favorable JUCO, like Butler.
