KSU and WSU need to stop trying to get the timing just right so they can win the first game and sign the damn deal. Such shortsightedness.

Bruce has never been consistently good. He’s a feast or famine coach, and typically eats well when someone else has done the grocery shopping for him.
Thats a new take. Used to be Can only win with inherited players and then it it progressively down hill from there. He broke that narrative so needed a new one.
He had a slight recover after losing Self ‘s players at IL, finishing 2nd in the league in 2009. Fools gold. Most saw what was coming based on recruiting. History is repeating itself here.

Weber is 71 and 66 in Big 12 regular season games at Kansas State. Seems to be a great divide on this coach.

I'll take two conference championships and an elite 8 appearance, over a 6 year period and a 71-66 record most any day over what took place over the last 30 or so years before.

The hallmark of a good program is consistency, this program is anything but that. Weber needs to finish in the top half of the conf most years. Finishing in the bottom half as often as the top half is not acceptable. I'm not calling for him to be fired but he needs to be better.

True... obviously the programs massive swing depended very heavily on 1 recruiting class. It's an issue in any college sport to have to have guys in line that your star players can pass the torch to, so the drop won't be too significant. Who did Dean pass it to?.. a true freshman in Murphy/A.Gordon(massive downgrade). Barry replaced by McGuil/D.Gordon(big downgrade).

Especially with Dean and Barry. The guys replacing them are producing substantially less in most all categories... and 3 of the 4 are freshmen. I realize others play those positions as well... but the point is, it's big recruiting failures. We shouldn't be relying on our Freshmen like we are, but we're being forced to.

D. Gordon & McGuil 2019-2020

Barry Brown2018-2019

Murphy/A.Gordon2019-2020

Dean Wade2018-2019

The Per 40min stats i'm sure would show the comparisons a lot more.

The four years before that WV finished 3rd or higher. That's consistency and having a down year every 5 years or so is understandable.

They also are pretty consistent in that they don't win any conference championships.
